Best book on Brooklyn streetball
Street ball is legendary in the streets of NYC, especially in Brooklyn. This book captures the essence of the sports that is known as "don't bring yo name, bring yo game"

BBall fan? Read this book. It's that simple.
A time and a place that no longer exists, except in the hearts and minds of old folks like me. Honestly the only book I have ever reread. And plan to again.

poor, and street-wise black kids playing the game of ...
A very well written outsider's account of the inner-city. This was a fair and not overly judgemental view of young, poor, and street-wise black kids playing the game of basketball, but were ill-equipped to play the game oof life. Loved it!!

Good reading
I have read several sports nonfiction novels before and this is one of the best book. I see what's happening behind the scene, I mean sports and the young in the get to. I like the atmosphere and love those people have for young kids. Hope those kids can live in better environments.

Very entertaining
I would recommend to any basketball fan or anyone interested in inter city life. This books seems like or was written about a different planet. Times were different and the environment was very different

Amazing Read!!!
Outstanding book. Great journey through the eyes of Rick who loved the game and who lived it through the souls of those he came to know on the play grounds of New York.
