I purchased this item to use while on vacation at Sanibel Island Florida. Sanibel Island is known for one of the best shelling sites in the world. After arriving at our RV Park on the Island, I found that the walk to the beach was 1 mile round trip. I donned the socks prior to walking to the beach to test them on fitting, comfort and integrity of the material. What I didn't realize on my walk that I would be walking on pavement, HOT pavement as well as cemented sidewalks. Once at the beach, I walked into the water and because of the banded strap around the ankle, no sand penetrated the socks while I enjoyed my time on the beach. VERY pleased with that experiment! The walk back from the beach I started feeling like a blister was forming on the pad of my right foot, as the road was still hot. I tried to walk on grass as much as possible but it was resident property I was walking on. Once back at our RV, I did develop a blister because the non slip material on the bottom of the sock had melted from the heat in that particular spot. The next 5 days, I wore the socks when shelling at other beaches on the island. They took a beating from walking on the shells in the surf and on the beach. Some of the threading may have been cut by shells and the non stick bottom was well worn away but overall, they are a great product, I just abused them more than the average beach walker. SO, if you're just looking for socks to wade in the surf or walk ON the beach or play beach sports, these socks are the bomb!

these are as close to barefoot as you can get and still protect your feet - the ankle high style with the velcro strap keep all sand out - they look really funky - so if you're into style or looking cool then maybe not for you, or if you want a harder sole like some of the water shoes then re-think these but for a natural feel these are great - Low tide reef walkers, great in soft areas but hard sharp rocks will still hurt - really depends on where you're going / walking

I take a men's US size 12 shoe, I ordered an XL which is size down and the fit is good. A size up would have been too sloppy for swimming and likely for other active water sports.I wish the opening around the ankle was smaller, I can fit 3 fingers in before the excess material is taken up then there's plenty of stretch after that - at least the straps do an OK job to close up the opening to prevent ballooning with water during a swim. Oh, about those straps, the rectangular piece which the strap wraps and pulls to snug up fitment around the ankle often turns 90 degrees creating additional slack, perhaps the mfr should use a ring instead to prevent this, it doesn't render the straps useless though.As long as I'm wishing, the cut at the front of the foot seems universal like a sock as opposed to tailored like a shoe - there's about 3/8" of material overhang or excess between the big toe & the little toe. In fairness I have other socks that are cut similarly.I like that the protective sole isn't restrictively thick or broad though some may prefer otherwise.I used these in a cold water swim, they helped to prevent numb feet and cramps.

I bought these socks because I am a oyster harvester and needed something to keep warm while out in the cold elements. They work wonders where has this been all my life!!! Stayed warm on a very cold day and that never happens would highly recommended! Thank you for a wonderfully product!!

I love the blue snorkeling socks! They are the ideal fit for my foot. I appreciate that the snorkeling fins fit over them so easily. I can see how these socks will help keep my feet more comfortable as I wear the fins. I also like the look very much! I look forward to using them when I next go snorkeling. Can't wait!

We used these everyday on a recent 17 day snorkel trip to the USVI. These booties are very comfortable and held up well. We walked with these booties on several different shoreline types: sand, rocks, pebbles. The have very little signs of wear and made entering and exiting the water very easy. We will order a second set just to have a back up set.

I bought these for a bit of protection and grip for when I wade into local rivers & lakes while fishing & kayaking - they work perfectly! Enough protection and grip to protect my feet yet light enough for plenty of mobility. They fit decent - size small is just a little long for my size 6 1/2 (women's), medium width foot - no slipping at all even when wet. I like that the ankle strap gives enough room to get them on & off then helps keep them snug and keeps all sand & rocks out.

I specifically ordered this type of neoprene beach sock because it had a velcro closure and because the socks came up above the ankle, so as not to compete with the ankle straps on the sandals that my spouse wears. Spouse says that the XL fit well (he wears size 11.5 D or E shoe), and gave him a slightly wider fit in the toe without gapping around the ankle. 3mm neoprene is thin enough to be comfortable without being too thin for splashing in 60 degree or warmer water.
