Except for typo errors and grammatical errors, the whole series is good reading. Follow the exploits of British commandos from 1940 to 1945. Good stuff. Being lucky as well as finely trained are good traits for combat soldiers.

A good steady read
A good steady read, some predictability as this is part of a series. The characters are developed as the series goes along. The author has thrown in a few casualties and some different objectives to some real operations, but whats war without a few casualties and a different bottom line to think about.

This a close look at what goes on behind the scenes in a war zone, the soldiers that go in early to disrupt the enemy's actions thus clearing the way for the men to come. No one is better than Griff Hosker at not just describing exciting action but also showing the human side of the characters. This has been a truly interesting series and I hope there is more to come.

I spent ten years as a Special Forces soldier in RVN, the Middle East and other areas so I have a little background in the types of operations described in this book. The training and leadership aspects of special operations units described in this series is refreshingly accurate. The combat sequences require the "conscious suspension of disbelief" which is a perquisite for most military fiction. To this point the editing in each of the volumes in this series is awful. The publisher need to fire Mr Spelchek and hire a British proofreader and an editor who has read and understood at least one other military tome.

A Great Final Note in Hosker's Civil War Series.
I have really enjoyed Hosker's U.S. Civil War series and this one was no exception. This is light reading, extremely well done and fun to read. The only criticism I could offer is that the editing often leaves something to be desired, but it does not detract from the overall story.

better
Good job explaining in detail what Tom and his crew had to endure during their Commando raids. Still would like to have Tom have more interaction with his father.
