If you have a toilet where the seat bolts are hidden inside the body of the toilet. then you need this little kit in order to fix a loose or broken seat and you may not find that fact hidden in your manual or your manufacturer's web site (Koehler, I'm looking at you). I used this to change the seat on my Kohler toilet and it worked like a charm. The directions are clear and easy to follow. One of the fittings that go into the toilet body to accept the bolts was still firmly anchored, so I elected not to replace it, but the other one was very easy to replace. Once it was firmly set using the enclosed part and wrench, I was able to mount the seat (purchased separately) with the bolts in this kit and it was a perfect and solid fit.

The anchors are incredibly cheaply made. When I tightened the first anchor, with a ratchet as stated in the instructions, it immediately snapped off. It was a good thing I only needed one. The second I slowly tightened using a nut driver. After just a few turns I stopped because I was afraid of snapping it off too. It seemed tight enough and didn’t spin. I went to put the screw on, through the Kohler washer/toilet holder and the bolt was too short. I compared the size with the one I removed. The new one was half an inch shorter and would not work. I ended up using the tightening bolt (included). It looks different than what should be there (and with the existing one on the other side) but the toilet hinge cover covers it and it seems to work. Not a great kit.

Works like it should. This put the fasteners in my Kohler toilet. I do not like plastic fasteners for toilets. Kohler makes a great design that will not slip. Although you have to buy a fastener kit... :)

The directions were not clear as they even had a least one typo on them it doesn’t explain the difference between the setting bolt and the slotted machine screw. Kit was very expensive for what is included.

I've changed 3 Kohler one piece toilet seats and have needed this every time because of stuck bolts or broken compression fittings. It's a PITA but better than buying a new toilet

The anchoring system works as expected. However, if the male-female end of the old anchor is at all oxidized due to moisture, the removal tool will cause the old anchor to break at its mushrooming section and the screw just spins. You will end up prying up the anchor with a flat bar. Make sure to protect the porcelain surface and use slow steady pressure.

Worked great for one piece toilet to replace seat

Was very disappointed did not work at all. I finally got the old toilet seat off by destroying the seat and working for over an hour to remove the old bolts and bad threaded plugs in the porcelain. I THINK I then had it solved. The new inserts are very thin and making sure to follow the provided instructions tried to install and finally end this ordeal but the threads stripped out with very little pressure applied with a small ratchet. New seat is now more loose than the old one. Kohler made a very poor design toilet then a fix it tool that don't work. One last thing the shipping to get the darn thing took forever.
