Toy Stories: Photos of Children from Around the World and Their Favorite Things Hardcover – March 25, 2014

This book is really great. My kids (11, 9, 7, 5) have been pouring over it and asking questions ever since it arrived. The content has a clean layout with no distractions, which kids appreciate, even if they don't understand why. I expected my kids to enjoy seeing the pictures and hoped they would eventually learn to see passed the toys and into the underlying highlights of this book. It happened sooner than I expected. We were in deep by the time we got finished looking at it the first time, with this book serving as a springboard into subjects that run deeper than toy collections. Out of all the beautiful children featured in this book the one that really stole our hearts was Chiwa (Page 94). I recommend it to anyone who's looking for an easy way to open up a dialog with kids of all ages about the economics and social realities of other countries.

This concept is simple--photographs of children from all over the world with their favorite toys, no text beyond the child's first name, age and location. But there is much to see when you study and think about the photos. My 2 yr old granddaughter is fascinated, and so is every other family member who's seen Toy Stories. Highly recommended.

Also being a photographer, I really enjoyed the premise of this book and it will make a great discussion piece with my son once he gets older.

Got this as a gift for a friend and couldn't help but look through it beforehand.It's adorable. The pictures are crisp and interesting.The text is very readable and captivating.Would definitely recommend!

O livro é a mais pura expressão da verdade, adicionado de toda a pureza pueril. Certamente ajudará a formar seres humanos menos simpáticos à desigualdade.

No tiene ninguna descripción de la vida de los niños como el de "Where children sleep" de James Mollison. Sólo las fotos con la edad, nombre del niño y lugar donde vive. Tampoco salen los niños con todos sus juguetes, sólo con sus favoritos. Está bien para que los niños vean y aprendan cómo viven otros niños del planeta.
