Bodum Pour Over Coffee Maker, 17 Ounce, .5 Liter, Cork Band

My first experiment with Pour over coffee. What to say...Bodum is a beautifully made designer product. Very impressed!

La cafetera es muy bonita, los materiales de calidad, resistentes... todo amante del café debería tener una de éstas para aquellos días en los que disponga de un poco más de tiempo para preparar una o varias tazas de café (ojo, tampoco es que tarde mucho en filtrar, sólo que pues hay que hervir el agua antes). El corcho que rodea del cuello de la jarra se retira para lavarla, es muy fácil por el cordón de cuero y el botoncito que lo ajusta. Lo que sí es que es necesario un escobillón para limpiar bien la jarra por dentro ya que el café la deja aceitosa (de preferencia no debe lavarse con jabón, sólo con agua), el filtro es relativamente rápido y efectivo.

Another classy product from Bodum. Makes enough for my husband and i (about 2 cups each). Added a coffee filter to make the brew stronger which also helped make cleaning of thr filter much easier. A couple of comments that the coffee grinds went right through without an additional paper filter. This wasnt an issue for me as i used medium grinds as instructed for this. Stores will be able to advise grain size for different coffee makers. Right now, this is a toss up for me and my husband as we cant decide between our new coffee maker and our french press ! Also, the jug on its own make a pretty sangria serving jug!

I decided to get this product as I was in between drip coffee makers. I am very pleased with this, the permanent filter is easy to clean and causes very little mess, whilst being cheaper in the long run and better for the environment. It makes enough coffee for 2-3 reasonable sized cups, and when used with a medium grind coffee the flavour extracted is excellent. The 'collar' for want of a better term works very well, and is easily removed for cleaning. Only slight negative point, I can think of is due to the thin glass any coffee left in the carafe gets cold fairly quickly, and I can't imagine it lasting too long around excitable pets, but for a leisurely breakfast it's ideal.

It works fine even without a disposable filter. The coffe tastes good and it look very pretty. It is a bit bigger than what I expected (1l) but it is still easy to store. Since this was the first time I used this kind of tool I found the instructions scarce but it is pretty easy to find tutorials online.
