Instructions: Cut two protector sleeves from “tree” and clean with alcohol. For post earrings: Slide protector sleeve over the post. Trim tip of the sleeve so the backs included will fit on the post of the earring, NOT ON THE SLEEVE. Insert sleeved post through the ear as usual. For wire hook earrings, slide protector sleeve over wire hook so that it covers the section of wire that will rest inside the ear. Comes with 8 protective sleeves and 4 backs.

Finally, help for metal allergies.
I have had problems on and off for years with metal allergies. Sometimes I could wear earrings and not have any problems but when I did I would have to go months without wearing earrings. With these pierced ear protectors I can wear my earrings with no irritation. I don't know about using them on a "J" hook but on post earrings they work great. I am so glad I found these! The seller is great and the shipping was fast! I have already ordered 2 more sets. I love them!

I have yet to see...
So far, I haven't been able to stretch my ear holes big enough to fit these in 'em (but I always wear regular earrings, and my ear holes might be extra small now since they got irritated by my earring material (which is why I ordered these), plus, one of them split half way down when it reached the curve of my fish hook style earring (the other stayed intact), so I guess I have to start wearing larger-guage earrings for a while to work up to these. For people who's ear holes are pretty big though, and for stud earrings, these probably work great right away.

I can FINALLY wear my earrings again!
I love these! I am finally able to wear my favorite earrings again!! I had no problem with them fitting the holes in my ears. They were very comfortable. My only concern was that the hard plastic backs didn't fit the posts so I broke the first set. The bonus backs fit the posts perfectly. I even bought some for my aunt and my mom.

Very pleased to find something that allows me to wear earrings ...
Very pleased to find something that allows me to wear earrings again! As others have said, these covers will make the posts larger, so depending on how stretched out your piercing is, you may have some difficulty putting your earrings in. A little vaseline may help. Also, the backs do fit on a standard earring post, but you have to play around a bit with trimming the covers. If you don't trim enough, the backs will fall off. If you trim too much, the covers don't do their job and your ears itch. Price is a bit high for what you get. I just learned Claire's sells them in store and will probably buy my next set from them and avoid shipping.

Do not recommend
Horrible! The backs will not fit over the post. Waste of money

LOVE THESE!
LOVE THESE!!!!For the first time I can wear earrings without wondering if the clear nail polish I coated them in has worn off and my ears are going to swell up. I would definitely recommend buying several packs because you're going to love them (also because you might rip a couple trying to get them on the earrings too roughly before you get the hang of it).

Plastic tore when I tried to put them on hook earrings.
I'm rather desperate to find something that will work to keep my skin away from the posts of hook earrings (or any earrings for that matter). I don't like to use nail polish on my earrings so I was excited to see these, but they did not work for me. I tried to put them on hook earrings and the plastic tore. I do understand that it is hard to make a thin plastic to go around a curved and skinny wire, but it would help so, so much if someone comes up with a reliable solution. Or if you happen to know of a good solution, please - I'd love to know!
