Signature Collection: Starry Night 1000pc Jigsaw Puzzle

This puzzle was way harder than it looks.This puzzle was fantastic. It was challenging but still fun. There are so many similar shades that it was really difficult to put together but it really kept our minds going. I absolutely loved this.My lady and I loved this so much that we purchased a frame for it. It looks fantastic in our basement. If you like a challenging puzzle this will not disappoint.

The overall image quality on this puzzle is very poor, making differentiation between pieces and colors very difficult. I chose this puzzle and in this size partially for its difficulty (and it should be!), but when that difficulty comes primarily from poor image quality, that's definitely not a plus to the puzzle. Although it is hard to tell just judging from images, this puzzle also appears to have much more green in its hues than most images online of the orignial painting do. Despite the manufacturer's claims that the puzzle is glare free, I found it difficult to find an angle to examine pieces that A) provided enough light to see and B) wasn't glaring so badly as to obscure the piece's detail.Worst of all, there is a significant margin removed from the outer edges of the puzzle. Compare the above image to wikipedia or other resource, you'll notice at the very least a star missing from the left edge and 4 and a half missing from the top. Given that the intent of this puzzle is to recreate an iconic piece of art, one that I had intended to glue and frame, missing some of the best aspects of the puzzle (much of the oh so famous Starry Night for instance) is unforgivable.In short if you want a poorly colored, cropped, low resolution puzzle that proves more challenging than it "should" - this is for you. Other wise I would recommend trying another manufacturer. Eurographics and Tomax each have a 1000 piece version, Clementoni has a 2000 and a 500, and Piatnik has a 1000 (although the image of the box appears to have been cropped at the same place this one was on the top, with the full left and right margins)I will be purchasing the 2000 piece puzzle from Clementoni (Search Amazon just for "Starry Night 2000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle" and you should find it.) Hopefully it shall provide a legitimate challenge with a fulfilling accomplishment that actually matches (or more closely so) the original artwork.

The appearance of this puzzle is great. I loved the art as a nice adult puzzle, however the puzzle construction itself is not high quality. The pieces do not fit cleanly. There are pieces that need to be forced and other pieces where many pieces will fit together. This made the puzzle really frustrating and overall not enjoyable.

The packaging and pieces look decent, and the poster look okay as well.People saying it is cut off at the top but it is showing more at the bottom when compared to the Eurographics' similar puzzle.My biggest disappointment is the print quality of the puzzle itself. It looks blurry and not detailed. Even the included poster is more detailed than the actual puzzle that people are paying for. It lessened the fun and increased unnecessary difficulty to the puzzle. Anyone know if the Eurographics' version is more detailed than this one?

We have been working on the puzzle for about two months now, only 163 pieces left to go. Sadly we only have 162 pieces physically! :( Even though Buffalo Games has a no question replacement policy it is only valid 90 days after purchase(originally bought in February), so we just ordered another set so that we can frame it. It is hard to say whether the puzzle was defective or the piece was vacuumed up during the course of two months, speculation has not proved rewarding(especially since it was probably the latter)..The Starry Night painting is a very challenging subject for a 1000 piece puzzle(at least for these novices).Minus a star for not being printed with the best dpi that this painting deserves and frankly requires(some pieces are VERY hard to match due to blur). There is quite a bit of the painting missing around the edges (from real life) and even more from border of actual puzzle and poster picture(solution) that comes with puzzle; nothing to cry about though IMO.Wish that it came with another poster picture thing so that two people could work on it at the same time and each have their own solution to look at(you have to look VERY closely at it).All in all this is not for the faint of heart, but should be adequately rewarding upon completion.Would rate 3.8 if I could but will settle for 4 Stars.

i have been working on this puzzle for a while. I am good at puzzles and find them relaxing. I chose this puzzle as I love the painting, but I can say it is difficult. It takes a lot of patience since!

The printing resolution on this puzzle is very poor, and the surface is extremely hard to see - the "matte" coating is not at all helpful! Because of the low dpi or resolution, it's very hard to figure out which pieces go together. I have done many puzzles, and bought this for thanksgiving to do with the family as we have done for many years. I will be throwing it away due to the terrible quality of the picture.

This puzzle was a little difficult but turned out beautifully. The colors are strong and striking. I have it hanging on my living room wall.
