Simple, clean design
Very easy to setup, bluetooth connection to ipad simple. Bluetooth range though is only about 6m (although i live in an old stone house, not the best for wifi, or mobile, or bluetooth connection.)At low volumes sound is clean and clear, good bass, basically very good all-round. Higher volumes really show the limitations of mp4 quality - not really the fault of the speaker.Love the simple way in which the ipad/ipod connects via a cable/usb (of which there are two separate inputs). Guaranteed to work, unlike most of these idiot slot in connectors. Charges ipad/ipod even when switched off.Why not 5 stars? Price. At 130 quid really is the limit of value for return in sound quality. But having compared the sound with a Bose sound dock series III, and cannot really tell the difference perhaps 5 stars is in order

excellent speaker, easy to use
Bought this speaker to give me the choice of playing music anywhere in my house without having to continually change my playlists on ipod and phone. Very easy to link with any bluetooth device eg streaming radio from a phone or music from a computer. The sound quality is good with a nice amount of bass. Decent amount of volume and doesn't buzz when loud, stays clear. Good range on the bluetooth, I can play music on the speaker in my kitchen from the pc upstairs with no problems and as I said before it is very easy to set up.Speaker comes with power cable but there is a lithium ion battery available for this model just at an extra cost.Brilliant piece of kit for the money and if you feel like buying two you can link them (without cables) and play your favourite tunes in stereo!

Great Sound and Excellent Bluetooth Pairing
I purchased the Sound Platform 2 as a birthday gift for an iphone 5 user. Most reviews I had read stated that this unit had little to no bass, but I had confidence in the unit after hearing the original sound platform on display at various stores. After testing the Sound Platform 2 I can happily say that I do not have any buyer's remorse. The speaker sounds great, offering sparkling highs and crisp mids. This speaker system gave me the goosebumps I feel when I test out expensive speaker docks at stores. Sure, the bass isn't the focus of the design (and I certainly don't recommend getting the unit if you ONLY listen to hip-hop or other bass centered music), but the bass still makes a strong appearance that is amazing for a couple of 3-inch drivers. Those listeners that claim they don't hear any bass in the unit must be spoiled by subwoofers in their car.I don't own any docks because I don't have an iPhone, but I'd say the set's sound is fairly comparable to my Beats Studio headphones. The Sound Platform 2 creates that same "3d sound" that the headphones create so well using crisp, clear audio. The SP2 does a better job than the Beats at instrument separation, giving the illusion that each element of a song has it's own dedicated speaker. The beats have an advantage in bass when listening to hip-hop music, but the bass was very similar in the two devices when I played music by Blink-182, Jason Mraz, Zach Brown band, and Sublime. The SP2 created a perfect balance of sound in genres outside of hiphop and EDM.Getting the music started was easy, too. Pairing through bluetooth was quick and reliable with my HTC One X and the iPhone 5. I never had a dropped connection during the 2 days I tested the unit which was comforting considering this is a proprietary bluetooth device. In conclusion, the unit sounds as good as speakers priced much higher. Hopefully, Soundfreaq finds success in selling high quality products such as this for low prices to pressure the competition to do the same. I wouldn't get the sound platform 2 if I only listened to hip-hop because I personally like extremely heavy bass for that, but even so the Sound Platform 2 still sounds great with hip-hop and EDM because it brings out parts of instrumentals that would go unnoticed with a lower quality speaker. If you listen to a variety of music, this speaker will constantly give you something to smile about.

Pretty Awesome; with Minor Flaws
Bought this at target originally for $150. Set it up at the house and initially thought the sound was a bit off. Messed with the EQ settings on the speaker and on my phone, and eventually it started to sound pretty dang good. I did a lot of reading on many other speakers such as the Sony BTX500, the Bose, etc etc. Reviews say all those speakers sound amazing, so I won an ebay auction for the Sony and returned this to Target. Got the Sony in the mail the next day, and to my surprise, the Soundfreaq actually sounds MUCH better! Not sure if this even has APT-X but it still sounds amazing, plus it has a radio! I love that fact, since many of the speakers out there don't. I also heard the Bose at Target, and it was nice, but is it really worth the price? Doubful.Pros:- GREAT LOUDNESS- Exceptional Bass- FM Radio- Easy to pair- Right size for me- Pairable to create stereo- Aux inputsCons:- No physical remote, and remote App is a joke- No portability (optional external rechargeable battery available)- No APT-X? (Could be wrong about that, but still sounds really good)Bottom line: After lots (and I mean LOTS) of research, I'll definitely say this is the best non-portable bluetooth stereo out there for the $. I just re-ordered it for $129 on here, and will be returning the Sony (which is supposed to rival the Bose btw).

Soundfreaq hits homerun!!
Soundfreaq was recommended to me by a muscian lover in New York (New Jersey, actually). And I have not been disappointed. It is great to have music in the house again. I'm still learning how to program my music... this has nothing to do with Soundfreaq. But overall, this is a great little music system. Sometimes, I move one of the speakers upstairs. And I was so impressed I purchased a Soundfreaq Spot for my three-year-old grandson who digs music! Everyone deserves music in their ears.

Disappointment.
Awhile back ago, I purchased this speaker used off amazon. Speaker worked fine for a month and then it wouldn't power on even after I thought it was the power cord and purchased a new one. Turns out it was just broken. So... I decided to buy a new one, figuring it was because I bought it used. Within a week of use (pairs up to my iPhone which has volume control on it), the speaker was staticky. I didn't understand what was causing it. After having someone else pair up to it, I was told it was a blown speaker. I'm shocked and just frustrated at this point. I loved the sound the speaker produced but it doesn't seem to matter if I buy it used or new, it breaks on me. So I'm done trying. I use to love soundfreaq and always boast about their products but this is enough for me to never go back.

My only negative comment was that it did not have a remote as my other Soundfreaq. It plays well and the sound fills my office -
