It does what it says on the tin. It protects the outdoor unit and looks good while doing it. I do like the fact they have created it from multiple copies of the same casting, nice bit of engineering there, but it’s way overpriced for what it is.It’s has the option of mounting via screws (supplied) or you can cable tie (also supplied) it to a gutter down pipe. The cable ties are a bit low quality though as by my own not paying attention I put it on upside down so needed to release the cable ties and they broke. Would have been better to have reusable ones supplied, but it’s installed and giving protection to the outdoor unit.If I had a 3d printer I’d have just printed an enclosure but until then this is the best option.

Very easy to setup

Have now installed the outside temperature, anenometer, and rain guage units. Had to reposition the internal hub a few times as units dropped out intermittently. Web-based interace is good - and stores plenty of historical data as well as linking to other Netatmo installations across the world. Phone App slightly less helpful but still good.Disappointed with the lack of range for connections between devices and hub. This uses its own proprietary wi-fi that you can't extend so devices have to be near the hub. This severly limits their accuracy as the house interferes with wind and rain. Its an expensive piece of kit for not such accurate results. A repeater on the outside of the house would help a lot.

I’m not sure about other users which have indicated that it isn’t a true ‘’radiation shield’’.I use mine purely to keep the rain off so the humidity always reads correct as the sensor can become saturated after a downpour.Terms of reflection of the suns uv rays I can’t comment as the placement of my sensor receives no direct sun.It definitely keeps it dry at least.*UPDATE 07.06.2024*I've moved the screen into a location where it receives full sun away from any buildings on open grass.It seems to do its job well and protects the sensor from the heat of the sun, while giving reasonable readings closely resembling shade temperatures.This also allows you to record more accurate night temperatures which is often overlooked as you can move your sensor away from any heat sources!Added one star!

The sturdiness appears doubtful. It doesn’t feel like a quality product. It appears to be made by some cheap Chinese factory. Waterproofing appears doubtful of the outdoor products. Time will tell.The app user interface is horridly clunky & feels like Windows 4 or similar vintage. Despite feedback to the company, no one seems to be bothering about the graphics being more slick & eye candy-ish

The product claims you can use it to install the outdoor weather module in "the blazing sun" and it'll remain accurate. That's 100% untrue, direct sunlight still sends the module way off. Recent sunny days it's recorded 33⁰C - true air temp was 24⁰C utter waste of money. I'd bin it if I could be bothered.

I bought this so I could move my outdoor sensor closer to the indoor unit. Before the purchase my outdoor unit was under a eve that was 100% in the shade, after reading about this cover, they made it sound like it could be in direct sunlight and the temperature readings would not be affected, please don’t let this fool you, i have since moved my outdoor unit back to its original position, it’s still in housing but that is only because I missed the return window and like to get my moneys worth.

Expensive for what is. I Probably could have made one out of an old Tupperware / Lock and Lock container?? It looks good though.

Star rating based on product cost vs quality of item. Bought for the convenience, moved my sensor to a different location to end the need for a ladder to service due sensor not reading or batteries needing replacement (had mounted on the north most side of my 2 story garage about 1 ft below overhang still got wet and I needed my 12ft ladder or ext ladder to reach) Kinda of a cheap (really cheap plastic in my opinion) product for the price, but if it can keep the sensor dry and prevent it from failing due to moisture I’ll be happy.

Bon produit Netatmo mais toujours cher pour ce qu'il est. Protège bien le capteur et ne modifie pas les données par la protection. On aurait pu penser que le fait d'enfermer le capteur modifie les données mais non. Vérifié avec un thermomètre mercure placé à coté de la station capteur.

Ohne das Zusatzgehäuse wäre die Erwärmung durch die direkte Sonneneinstrahlung viel zu hoch. Auch jetzt immer noch signifikant, aber einen Schattenplatz gibt es auf dem Balkon nicht wirklich.Auch der Schutz vor Nässe ist sehr sinnvoll.Montage war mit den mitgelieferten Kabelbindern sehr einfach.
