(Korean with English subtitles) Lee Ji-Bong is a former Olympic bronze medalist in weightlifting, but an injury forces him into early retirement. After the lack of support from the Korean Olympic Committee, he falls on hard times and ends up working at a shady nightclub passing out flyers. One day he gets a surprise visit from his former coach - who insists he takes up a coaching gig at a rural high school. Will Lee be able to make something out of the weightlifting team comprised of a rag-tag group of outcasts?

Very Interesting and Worth a Watch
It is certainly a heartfelt film but also has several funny moments. The characters are interesting, the acting good, the development of the story has a comfortable pace, and it is an overall good film. I didn't give this 5 stars because there was a bit too much crying (sometimes for comedic effect and sometimes for drama) and although it fit well in some scenes it was just a little too much for me. Good film, really.

King Kong of a Movie
I watch a Korean language film about once a week. Typically they are the light-hearted or outright comical variety. I anticipated Lifting King Kong to be the same. I was very much surprised that this film was based on a true story and really caught me unawares when I began to really connect with and care for the characters. This film is my second favorite Korean story with the mini-series Winter Sonata being my all-time favorite even among many American films. Watch this with the understanding that it is predominantly a flash back until the very ending.

The Title Says Everything
You will discover how deeply moving the title is in this wonderful film based on a true story. Lee Beom-Su the same year also starred in "The Righteous Thief," 180 from this performance and which I also recommend to see how versatile this gifted actor is.

Good movie although parts were sad. Everyone child should see this to see that competition is tough & no one gives you anything.

The end was shocking for me because I did not know the back story. Nonetheless, it was a great movie.

A very Great Movie
I thought this was going to be a very light hearted comedy but I was dead wrong. The movie had many twists and turns and really develops the relationship between the weight team and their coach. The ending also had me in tears... If you are looking for a great laugh- this isn't your movie because the ending will lead you in a totally different direction but it is definitely worth watching.

Pleasewatch this film
A movie with heart. I don't think it's a comedy, but one of those feel-good movies of triumphing over all obstacles in your path. I give it a full 5 stars. Please watch this film.
