Great little tool!
I almost canceled this order after I placed it, but I'm so glad I didn't! This little torch is awesome. I was between this and the Bernzomatic brand torch. My father owns the Bernzomatic and has never had any issues with it. Well this thing costs half the price and is every bit as good. It was easy to fill with a butane fuel can. After waiting a few minutes for the fuel to soak in, I lit it up and it roared to life. I was able to easily solder a circuit board with precision. It has adjustable heat which is useful. After it gets nice and hot, you can turn it down to control the flow of solder. The tip is nice, and easy to clean. The kicker is the clear plastic cover doubles as a stand while you're working. This is a great addition to my toolbox and will allow me to fix connections where I don't have access to an outlet. I plan on installing an entire car stereo with this.

Awesome Portable Soldering Iron!!
Awesome little soldering iron with adjustable heat. Self lighting is great!! It's tiny and is ready on the go, fits in your pocket, ignites and gets hot fast.Only one warning... The picture looked to me like it stands up on its own. This is not true. It can stand on the trigger side; but easily tips over. The last thing you want to have happen with something that would easily be a fire hazard.I wish they supplied some kind of sturdy stand for it. I have a 3D printer. Maybe I'll come up with something. I'm not taking any stars away. The soldering iron is great; and we all know that we have to be careful with devices like this.I am overall more than extremely happy. For the price and the portability this can not be beat!! I highly recommend it.

Thus unit is really a cool novelty but you should prob get the iso-pro instead or the porta-sol 50
Worked great for about a week under light duty but then all of a sudden it began spitting and sputtering and then the burner that holds the tip loosened on its own and would tighten up at all. The play in the movement caused the insulation in the ignition wire to short prematurely and no longer spark in the proper place to light the soldering iron. When I attempted to fix it, the brass burner ring from the inside if the gas diffuser fell out and was lost, rendering the unit useless as a torch or a soldering iron.

Very nice portable soldering iron
This is a nice soldering iron and has pros and cons.Pro: is portable and heats up quickly and the temp is controllable.Con: not very durable, do not drop it. Burns through the butane quickly.

Not as good as weller equivelent
When I received it it would not light, damaged igniter part. Fixed it myself. Takes a long time to heat up and does not offer the convenience of standing up like the Weller equivelent. The Weller is a better choice....Sorry Wall

Decent first cordless torch. Best than other similar priced
I purchased this along with the similar in price and function butane soldering iron from harbor freight to see which one I would like the best. I had very low expectations for this tiny yellow tool but it actually is much better than the other. It is far less bulky than the HF option and is very easy to use. Like others have said it heats up quickly and runs through butane fast but unlike many other cheap butane tools. It is actually very easy to fill and has a window for you to see when you are getting low. I even have dropped it from 6 feet on concrete which bent the metal top about 10 degrees but is still working good as new! I would recommend this as a budget soldering tool for any beginner
