Good quality — should last for years
I used this shut off valve to isolate my outdoor mister system into two sections. Everything downstream from this valve can be turned off if nobody is sitting in that area of the misters.The valve itself fits like any other 1/2” PVC fitting. It doesn’t matter if you have schedule 40 PVC, or otherwise. As long as the outside diameter of the PVC pipe you are fitting into this valve is 1/2”, you are good to go. It glues up with any basic PVC primer and glue. Just to be clear: this is not a threaded connection. The 1/2” PVC line glues directly into this fitting. So, make sure you plan your fitting placement and angle prior to glueing it. Once it’s glued, it’s permanent.The handle is a good size and turns smoothly a quarter turn to shut off the valve. No water leakage, even under pressure in my mister system (est. 60 PSI). It’s a basic ball-type valve, so it should last for years. Apply a small amount of Plummer’s grease to the ball valve (inside the fitting) with a q-tip before your glue up, if you find the handle difficult to turn.

Save your money on this one
Junk, I threw it away when the end came off and went to Lowe’s to buy a much cheaper, better valve.

Verry simple and easy to use. Deffentley great for the wether. I use mine on my chicken coop watering system and they work great.
