Late 2013 27" iMac Compatible
I replaced an older iMac with a Late 2013 27" iMac (3.2 GHz i7, GTX 780M 4GB, 1.28TB Fusion Drive) with 16GB of RAM in November. I planned on upgrading to the max 32GB of RAM at a later date. I held off upgrading due to mixed messages about the differences between the Crucial RAM Amazon was selling here and the recommended RAM on Crucial's website (which was more expensive). It seems like the dust had settled so I ordered two individual 8GB modules since the price was slightly less than the two-pack package at the time. Although I had concerns about fit, etc., my main concern was voltage requirements since higher voltage generally means more heat; heat being an enemy of electronics, particularly computer components. My understanding is that my particular model of iMac employs 1.35v RAM. Crucial's website specifically states that their recommend RAM is 1.35v. The Crucial RAM Amazon sells here is listed as 1.35v/1.5v. Just prior to ordering I contacted Crucial directly to be sure the RAM Amazon was selling was compatible with my model of iMac. MY EMAIL TO CRUCIAL: "Hello, Can you please tell me what the difference is between Crucial Part Number CT4951624 and Crucial Part Number CT2K8G3S160BM? Specifically I want to buy a 1.35v model. Part Number CT2K8G3S160BM is listed as 1.35V/1.5V. Thank you very much!" CRUCIAL'S REPLY: "Thank you for contacting Crucial. I have looked at both of the part numbers you sent in your email, and these are actually the same. The difference between the number CT4951624 and CT2K8G3S160BM is that the smaller one tells us that CT2K8G3S160BM is guaranteed compatible with your specific system. The longer part number, is considered a general part number that can be compatible with thousands of types of computers. That smaller number can vary from system to system, but the the general part number will not change. Essentially, CT4951624 simply tells us that this module is compatible with your system. Regarding the voltage, the fact that it is listed as 1.35v/1.5v means that it will work with either voltage. So, if you are looking for a module compatible with 1.35v you can buy that part. Additionally, if you were looking for one that worked at 1.5v this part would still be compatible. I hope this information has been helpful. " I also read several reports about the Crucial/Amazon modules being hard to seat...needing some force to get them in. Mine slipped in without any pressure at all, a perfect and easy fit. Other reviewers also mentioned having to wait a long time for a reboot or having to reboot twice with the Crucial/Amazon RAM. My iMac booted up normally the first time. So Crucial may have changed some of the specs from what was being sold here early on. SUMMARY: Since installing this Crucial RAM my iMac has been running flawlessly. So based on my personal experience the Crucial RAM being sold here by Amazon is a perfect fit! I'll update my post should I run into anything unusual. Hope that helps anyone that follows!

Super easy to install and works great!
Crucial is a great RAM. First time iMac'r and instead of paying Apple $200 more to go from 8gb to 16gb, I got this ram verified specs with Apple. It took literally 2 mins's to add this ram to my iMac. When I turned it back on, my iMac instantly recognized the ram and calculated 16 GB. I wish PCs were that simple.

Works like a charm in late 2012 27" iMac
I missed the good RAM prices by a few hours in early March, coming across them right after the 2x8GB Crucial kit (long official name: Crucial 16GB Kit (8GBx2) DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3-12800) CL11 SODIMM 204-Pin 1.35V/1.5V Memory Modules For Mac CT2C8G3S160BM ) jumped from ninety bucks to 105 bucks. I found this item at the same time, and it had also jumped but was still only about 48 bucks a stick. With only one review on this item (compared to the 50 or so on the 2x kit at the time), I was hesitant to buy this instead of the kit, but after extensive research on Crucial's website and others, I was convinced they were the same sticks of RAM and ultimately went for it. I'm glad I did! My 27-inch iMac arrived a couple of days ago, and after a quick shakedown cruise, I swapped out the stock 8GB of RAM for 32GB (four sticks) of this Crucial RAM. I made sure each stick clicked firmly into place, just as reviewers on the 2x kit's page advised. (You do have to push rather forcefully. You'll feel a dull slide/click when it goes into place.) Turned the computer back on and haven't looked back since. Thanks to history I know better than to say things like, "I'll never need a whole 32GB of RAM!" But I WILL say it ought to suffice for a good, long while. In any case, rest assured this is the same stuff as the 2x kit. If it happens to be cheaper than the kit when you're in the market, no reason not to go for this over that (unless you REALLY want to only bother with two plastic cases instead of four).

So easy to install and what a difference!
If I knew it was going to be so easy to change out I would have done it years ago. Not being to hardware savvy I balked at the idea of replacing my 4gb ram on my MacBook Pro until I got tired of watching the color spiral of delay as programs fought to get ram to load. I read a review on this product and saw a simple tutorial and I can't tell you how much faster my Mac is running. MY computer had 2-2gb ram cards and i replaced 1 card with this 8gb card and am now running 10gb and problems solved. If you have 15 minutes,a table,micro/mini phillip screwdriver(eyeglasses screwdriver),you turn off your Mac completely, and unscrew bottom cover, remove it and the ram slot has 2 little hinges 1 on each side that you press and the installed factory cards will pop up.Simply pull 1 or both out and insert new ram and your done.! I highly recommend this product!

Works great! Easy to install
Works great! Easy to install. When you install just make sure to losen the screws a little bit more on the mother board if you are unable to lock it. There are couple of great youtube videos that show how to do it but none of them talk about the models of MAC where the screws are too tight. Very good product otherwise!

Perfect for my iMac 27 - late 2012 model
After researching through some reviews on the different RAMs for my new iMac 27 2012 model, I only wanted to get an additional 8GB and this fit the needs. I was hoping the mhz wouldn't decrease from 1600mhz like some other reviews on different RAM state, and it didn't !! I'm very happy that I got an additional 8GB and the mhz didn't have any effect at all. This is exactly what I needed.

Maxing out my Mac Mini
I bought two of these for a new Mac Mini. Installation took about five minutes. (Push firmly to be sure they are properly seated.) This little computer now runs MS Word, iPhoto, iTunes, 20 browser tabs, Mail, Messages, Contacts, Maps, Numbers or Excel, and Google Earth -- all at the same time, no sweat. Oh, and under two user accounts simultaneously. Sweet. Now, for an SSD....

In my experience, Crucial is a good brand for RAM and SSD products. Very reliable and robust. I bought this product for increasing the RAM on my old Lenovo Thinkpad X230 which has now seen a new lease of life with this 8GB RAM. Most people don’t realise that they can increase the performance of old laptops by just increasing the RAM and upgrading storage to SSD as most time consuming operations are RAM and disk read/write operations.

I ordered a couple of these to place in my Synology DS1817+ and upgrade it to 16gb of RAM. At the time, it turned out to be cheaper than buying a 16gb set. Works great in that device.
