Ordered these to use at a motorcycle race meeting in Germany recently (June 2018) as relying n mobile phones at some of these race circuits is a bit hit and miss. We drove down to Oschersleben in convoy and we used the new WT's to stay on touch over the 750 mile journey. So far, so good: they worked exceptionally well. The WT's were used during a four hour race: there was two of us on the pit wall for the race and we stayed in contact with the garage who also had a set of the WT's. Again, worked really well (better than mobile phones)...the only thing that I would do differently at the next race would be to use headphones. As you can imagine, this was a VERY noisy environment and hearing what was being conveyed from the garage wasn't always easy due to the noise of the bikes. You live and learn...Very much recommended.

If you use your Smartphone to Film on Set like us then these are a very valuable asset in your Filming toolkitSo TRUTH UNBOX does a lot of filming in and outside of the Supercar BLOWN BLACK 5 which is a very fast Tuned Race Car when filming various products these usually require multiple runs back and forth and when the majority of our Footage is now created by and monitored by our Smartphones - Huawei P20 Pro so we cant take calls halfway through that would ruin the video.So we searched everywhere initially we bought some walkie-talkies from Amazon for £30 in there closing down sale but these were like Kids toys, so we look on faithful Amazon and found these.Initially, out of the box, we found that they were very Rugged and a strong Styled easiest way to describe to anyone that has worked the door before or who has used professional Motorola Radios they have that same style of hard protective plastic. Secondly we were impressed to see that the aerials were the decent rigid stumpy aerials not a cheap flexbil piece of wire in a rubber moulding that they call an aerial, all of this oozes quality. The Clip wasnt just a piece of plastic glued to the battery, no this just like the professional motorola's it has a metal hinged metal braketed belt clip that you affix this to the radio by two screws. The Battery slides in a snaps securly in place making everything once put together a very solid piece of kit.A nice addition to this is the cradles though each comes with its very own charge cradle, now whilst these are good they are also a bit of a pain in the bum to use, you have to be very precise to get the radio into the slot at the back otherwise it doesn't stand up and charge correctly also once you have it clicked into the base you have to pull to get it out holding the base at same time.TRUTH TIP - GET A RAVPOWER or EASYACC 2 USB UK PLUG Adapter then you can plug both the USB Cables in without disrupting anything else. Its then worth putting some double sided table on the bottom of each Charge Base and push hard with its designated worktop thsi will make it 10 times easier to put the radios in and out each time without fiddling.So general usage what are they like well we use them over on disused airfields, and also main roads on the odd occasion you do get a lot of "HELLO JOHNNIE CAN YOU PICKUP FROM THE KEBAB SHOP" which shows we have found a local cabbie rank, usually just change the channel and you are good to go again.We have had these work a distance of 1 mile LINE OF SITE but no further than this have we yet tested, but then we havent yet run out of signal whenever we have used then either.These have the function for earpiece so you could buy throat mic like special forces or over the ear ear piece like the Police have. all can be bought realtively cheap.PROS:- BUILD QUALITY - Same Hard Plastic as used in Profesional Motorola Radios- Aerial Stumpy Real Aerial, unlike the thin single wire ones.- Metal Hinged Metal Bracketed Belt Clip.- Comes with Charge Dock- Distance 1-mile line of the site covered.- Battery Lasts a Long time- Volume is great, unlike other radios you cant usually hear.CONS- USB Charge Cable no Power Black - Not a big thing but worth knowing you need to buy one.- Charging Base hard to use quite fiddly Radio needs to be pushed in a certain way and down at the back cant be a quick drop into the charge dock.- Clash of channels

Tryed the new walkie talkie sets out at the weekend at a motor sports event at a distance of about three quarters of a mile, reception was clear as a bell, must add this was not direct line of sight so am well impressed.

We purchased this as a gift for a family with kids that love to play spies or camping outside. The price was comparable to kid version of walkie-talkies so we decided to give this a shot. We were amazed at the quality of both the components and the sound. We tested it walking a few blocks through a dense neighborhood and we were able to get pretty clear reception. The features are pretty overkill for the purposes we had in mind but are great for casual uses. It can change frequency, volume and has an included earpiece. The rechargeable batteries work great also.

Described as 2w and powerful range, unfortunately not, ive compared these to my kiddies toy walkie talkies and were pretty much the same.Shame as they are well built, rugged and the speaker is loud and clear, just unfortunately let down by the miss guided range expectations.Also to note the charger base only comes with a usb to plug in, no 3 pin wall plug

Olywiz has definitely heard the maxim 'Keep it simple, stupid'. These walkie talkies don't need fancy screens. They're solidly built and small, with big-a$$ batteries that charge quickly via usb. And the manual - although beautifully printed and well-written - is redundant. Love em.
