Refrigerator Thermostat Control for Whirlpool WP2200859 AP6006464 PS11739539

Bought this same unit 1.5yrs ago for my 17yr old fridge that wasn't cooling properly. Install was a 5 minute breeze back then and a great fix at 20$ as opposed to buying a new fridge. Fast forward to last week my fridge started freezing everything this time. So took a shot at this being the problem and now i am up and running again. I tested the previous one with a multimeter and it indeed had failed. If this one has the same lifespan as the other one i will still be happy spending 40$ish total as opposed to buying a new fridge for such an easy fix.

The old thermostat was sticking, and it needed a good tap to turn the fridge back on. I bought this to replace it. First thing I realized is the bracket that holds the knob is backwards, which was indicated by some of the other reviews. This didn't bother me so much, it's a 13 year old fridge, I know clockwise is cold and counter clockwise is off. What did bother me is that the contact was stuck closed in this so that my fridge would never stop running, even in the "off" position. Product I received is garbage, and made troubleshooting a pain.Swapped this one out with a cheaper one on amazon without the bracket, fridge works fine. Don't buy this

This part fits the refrigerator but it is backwards when it's installed. You can't control the temperature of the refrigerator. Everything in my refrigerator froze as if it were in the freezer and I had to throw everything away. This part has cost me lots of money and my refrigerator still isn't working correctly. DO BOT BUY THIS ITEM!!!!!!

The one I received was defective. It had the setting-knob attachment clip installed backward. When I reported this the seller issued an instant refund, no questions asked. No harm, no foul, except for the annoyance and delay in getting the fridge working again.

The unit I received looked identical however the attachment point for the control knob was assembled 180 degrees off or backwards. This caused the knob to be installed backwards so you could not read the temperature scale graphic. Could be this one unit was just assembled wrong but returned and purchased OEM part.

Works as it should so far will update if it fails.

The thermostat was defective and did not work and it came in a plastic envelope I printed the return label but to return the item I had to pay $11 for an $30 item what I think it is not fare because it was a defective product.
