[UPDATE, 7 MONTHS LATER: Still works great. Use it every day. Will probably get another, unless I find something even better. ]I hate people who write reviews the first day they get something, but I won't have time to get around to this again so that's what I'm doing. I have no evidence re: durability or longevity of this thing, but I can say that it is way more thought out and overbuilt than I was expecting. The interior rubber harness is a great idea, just make sure you take your time seating the drive properly, it's a tough angle to insert. A lot of screws (8?) hold this thing together once your drive is seated in there, and they even give you a nice little screwdriver in the box. The cable tucks in flush to the side of the body. All in all, it bears a strong resemblance to the back of someone's Android phone case. I hope cooling is not an issue when using intensively for long periods, but there will always be tradeoffs. If you want protection from water and drops, airflow is probably going to suffer. So far, a great product and one that I'll probably purchase again in the future for my external drives.

This is inexpensive in comparison to most hard drive enclosures on the market. In addition to a hard drive enclosure, you get a cable that's permanently attached and an adapter.I installed it in seconds. What others said about the screwdriver/screws are correct. This is meant to be a one-time installation. Don't think you'll be swapping drives in and out of this enclosure.I had replaced the hard drive in my laptop (upgrading in size) and the one I removed was perfectly fine so I bought this to make that hard drive usable again. It's perfect. I'm not going to try out the durability intentionally but it's nice to know there's a beefy enclosure that'll protect my hard drive from accidental tumbles.

Just got a new laptop and went through the PITA action of moving data from the old laptop to the new one. Since I still have a need for local data that should not be backed up to the cloud, I decided it was time to get a USB drive. Since the problem with the old laptop wasn't the SSD, I decided to just get an enclosure and use the SSD out of the old laptop. Installed easily. There's a rubber gasket that the drive gets installed into and a foam pad on each side of the drive.I didn't measure the transfer speed, but I was able to move 72 Gig of data to the drive in less than a minute or so. Much better than using SD cards.

I am thoroughly impressed with the quality materials and the ingenuity of the package design. I have a few non-rugged external drive cases and ihave always been worried of damage. This design completely surrounds and protects the harddrive. I also like the build in usb cable. In fact i liked it so much I bought a second one :)

Pretty cheap. The plastic case is flimsy and the screws provided are not of good quality. I almost stripped three of the four just trying to screw them into the case. They are self-tapping so when you screw them into the plastic it requires a fair amount of torque to get them to cut threads into the new plastic so if your screwdriver is no of good quality it's easy to strip out the tiny heads of the screws. Be careful.

Item is well padded inside, the drive doesn't move. I think using a SSD drive is better as well. The screws did not fit, so you have to force them in. Ensure you use a quality phillips driver. The case is a tight fit, as well as the rubber around it, and the tucking of the usb cable is really nice. I would heat up the screws a bit, before putting them in, kinda seals it, but they are very hard to install.

A sturdy, well-made enclosure. Wanted a shockproof/waterproof. I have a small child, who knows what goes on my desk when I'm not sitting at it. My hard drive fits perfectly in it. Super fast connection. I specifically love that the USB has a place where you put it away. Seriously love this case! I would recommend it to any and all of my friends who would be looking for something like this.

Product in a word is great. If you have a 2.5" hdd or a ssd lying around this is a great buy and quite fast too. You it is a bit of a hassle to screw and unscrew 6 screws but it keeps it safe and for a portable enclosure i don't think someone will be needing to constantly open and close it. Then it is a USB 3.0 and the padding inside is great so it should be quite shock proof from impact too.
