Decent Inexpensive System for Starters
I used this microphone system daily during a 5 week conference with 65 people in a hotel conference room. The system was easy to set up and use - really no instructions were needed. We hooked it up into the hotel's sound system using a mixer. The reason I gave it 3 stars:1. The "Ruggedized Case" was HUGE! It's a one size fits all case that has foam cutouts for the different system components. But if you only buy the receiver and microphone like I did, there is a lot of wasted space. I used a spare camera case to carry the system around while I was using it.2. The microphone, even when on "Mute", caused snaps and occasional buzzes when being worn. It got a little annoying but not terrible.3. The microphone clip broke as I was putting it on the mic for the first time. But this is a complaint I've read about ALL wireless mic systems so I was prepared for it and fixed it with a bit of gaffer's tape. This is a nice inexpensive system for a small venue with a small budget.

Quality set. Built well and just works.
I had a previous iteration of this product from Audio-Technica and was very happy with it. The lavalier mic cable on it developed a bad connection and when I saw a new mic was half the price of the new system, I thought it'd be worth it to try an upgrade. For the past few weeks it has performed admirably and I would definitely recommend.Performance-All of my use has been within about 50 ft of the receiver. signal clarity has been good and I've not noticed any signal degradation when using low power. Depending on your use-case you may be farther, but I wouldn't be surprised if most users would find themselves within this range. I've been able to keep it the transmitter on low power which helps conserve battery. I have come fairly close to the estimated 8 hours with moderate use too. Something to note is that mine came with the gain turned all the way up on the receiver. This was causing significant distortion from clipping. I recommend having it at half power and doing amplification with something external.Build- Everything seems very sturdy for the most part. The receiver has just enough heft to give you confidence that it wont get crushed where someone less careful than you to drop something on it. The antennas are quite beefy; you won't be bending them. The transmitter has a good build and I like the design for the battery door that makes it easy to get at but wont get worn out to the point of falling off with extended use. The belt clip has a good grip too.Note on the lavalier clip- Some other reviewers noted that the clips are fragile. Mine has not broken yet but I've heeded them and been careful. Unlike the older version, this one is not all metal so the plastic does provide a point of failure. For amateurs and semi-professionals, I think this set is all you could ever need.

Terrible Connection/Lav Mic
Lasted for a few months... The connection between the lavalier microphone and the body pack box does is absolutely horrendous. It's a four prong non-standard connection, not 3.5mm "minijack" style. Lots of static, etc. Just had to purchase a new Nady system instead. Not a fan. Would not recommend.

Good system
Took some time to find the right space to put receiver (mainly due to user unawareness) but once the right settings are put in the device works wonders. Do not put it near metal objects and adjust the volue settings on the receivers to what you have on your mixer sound system and you will not be found wanting.

Good mic, weak clip.
Good sound, easy setup. But, like others, I discovered right away that the mic clip is extraordinarily fragile. After mine broke in the first attempt at connecting the mic, I replaced it with one of these http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001E58MX2/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_11 (a perfect fit, with flexible wire instead of crackable plastic).

For the price I don't think you can get anything better.
Very impressed with this system. Crystal clear sound even from quite a distance. I've used other wireless systems at a similar cost and have had all sorts of trouble with static, channel interference, and more. I was beginning to think that I would have to spend over $600 for a decent wireless mic. Fortunately Audio-Technica has proven me wrong with this system. For the price I don't think you can get anything better. The only bad thing was the lapel clip broke on first use. They really shouldn't make things like that out of brittle plastic... It wasn't a big deal though, you can still string it through and clip it on even though that's not the way it was intended.

Mic clip broke. Lots of room noise.
The plastic mic clip broke for me when I assembled it. Returned. Also, these pick EVERY SINGLE SOUND in the room, not just the person speaking. I suppose that's the nature of this kind of mic, but it was difficult to get a good clean signal without room noise.

Good buy if your just using them in a wedding ...
Good buy if your just using them in a wedding ceremony or small room. There is a lot of interference from smart phone these days.
