Gliders don't run in their wheels - they hop! Therefore, wheels need to be large, and open so their tails don't get caught, they don't hurt themselves, and their waste falls through so they're not running in it. This fits the bill. They're expensive, but you get what you pay for. I have 4 gliders, and 3 of these wheels - they're used all night, every night. Well worth every penny just in peace of mind.

This is my second wheel I have have ordered. It's quiet and very spacious. Our gliders took time to warm up to it but then they don't stop running and hoping. It's awesome! This wheel is great! They also sell nail grinding pads. However you need to change them often because of pee. :)

This wheel was a tad difficult to put together and its difficult to clean. Other than that its perfect. It's almost silent (other than the pitter patter of suggie footsteps) and my babies play on it for hours happily and safely. I actually want to buy another one. Love it.
