Good leather, cheap metal
The leather seems strong, however the tongue broke after less than two months of regular use. Additionally the black paint on the metal flakes off very easily. This is very disappointing for a brand that touts its durability as a selling point. I have contacted the company's customer service department about this issue.EDIT: I've upgraded this review from one to three stars after contacting Hanks's customer service department. They were easy to deal with, and they quickly sent me two replacement belt buckles. Replacing the buckle was pretty easy.

The belt I've been looking for all these years
From reading some of the other reviews I was concerned about getting the right size. I had two belts about a year old that were falling apart, but they fit me. So I ordered the same size as those two belts. When my Hanks A2700 Everyday Leather Belt arrived, I thought it was going to be too small, so I measured it against the old belts and it was less than +/- a half inch difference. I put it on and it was perfect with the pin in the middle hole. Actually the fit was better than the other belts which fit best in the closest hole. The belt is thick, fairly stiff, heavy leather. It's perfect in my Levi 505's, but if your loops are smaller, it could be a problem. It holds my pants up without any sagging, especially between the loops. The general feel of wearing it is very secure. One problem I've run into with other belts is finding an adjustment that doesn't hurt my stomach when sitting, but still holds my pants up securely when standing. The first thing I noticed when I put this one on, was that the pressure on my stomach was even and very comfortable, sitting or standing. This belt cost about three times what I usually pay for a belt, but I'll be surprised if it doesn't last five to ten times longer. I'm throwing away four cheaper belts that didn't last and weren't nearly as comfortable as this one, so I think this belt is a bargain

Great belt, might order 2 sizes up for best fit
Wow this thing is thick. The only way this belt would ever break is if the catch or the screws that hold the loop together break, or you tried to tow a semi with it. Overall nice belt, but I would go up a size. I wear a 34 pants, ordered the 36, as instructed, and that gives you just enough lap to tuck into the loop. If you want more lap through the loop, like most of the pictures on Hank's website, then you need to get two sizes bigger. 38 for a 34, for example. Also, it's a bit noisy. I think because it's so thick there's a bit of creaking to it. Will probably go away in time. Nice belt though, and I'd wear it for both casual and suit occasions.

Fantastic customer service. Fantastic Belt. Updated my initial review from 1 to 5 stars.
Item arrived damaged with a huge crease and 2 gouges in the leather. Completely ruining it the outside finish of the belt. Very dissatisfied and disappointed.I am amending my review of the Hanks Belt from 1 to 5 stars. After posting my initial review Hanks customer service reached out to me with a day and apologized that I received a damaged belt. They had already packaged up another belt and shipped it to me before even talking to me. They also advised me to keep the damaged belt. A few days later I received the 2nd belt and it was in perfect condition. The belt fits great, it looks good, and is definitely heavy duty and supports my EDC carry 9mm effortlessly. I will definitely purchase from them again in the future.

As close to perfection as anything can get
Cons:1: The numerous holes in this belt seem a bit superfluous.2: The screws could be made so that it would be easier to turn the two jointed screws at once.3: There is no dye coating the inside of the holes or the buckle slot, so the leather in those areas has a peachy color. I had to dye these areas myself (they look fine now).4: Buckle design and quality: The buckle's pin kept moving at an angle and would go behind the buckle and it would take a second to fix (I managed to solve this problem by pinching the pin's loop with channel locks). Additionally, after only a few weeks of normal wear, the black paint coating the buckle began to chip and wore off completely on one side. However, if you have a problem with this belt's buckle, this issue can be easily resolved. I informed the seller of this issue and promptly received a new brass antique roller buckle (I specifically asked for that one). They even included a pair of brass screws all at no cost.Pros:1: Great company that won't let you down.2: The belt itself is of outstanding quality.3: The leather is strong and thick.4: You can change the buckle.5: Made in USA!Overall, I am extremely satisfied with this amazing belt! I highly recommend it above any other. Hanks, Thank you so much for making quality products in the USA! Five stars to you!

You don't want this headline.
I purchased both a brown and a black belt. I've returned the black belt. The inside surface of the black belt was not finished--not sealed. I rubbed it gently with a damp washcloth and some of the dye rubbed off. That means that if I wore the belt and perspired the dye would leach into my trousers. I would be happy to have a black belt that was properly finished on both surfaces as is the brown belt that I have kept..

Heavy duty belt for tough jobs. Only had a few months so far, still testing.
I was skeptical at first at the cost of the belt with only pictures to go by. I read alot of the reviews on different Hanks belts before buying this one to try. I work as a HVAC Technician for a College and I have a large key ring set, Phone, and Motorola Radio that I put on my belt 5 days a week. I have gone through alot of belts from Walmart to different low end and high end clothing stores and they do not last. The only out of shape portion of the belt so far is where the buckle is latched into the same hole every day. My other belts at this point start falling apart or the whole stretches out or rips. This belt in the few months that I have had it has held up to some pretty rigorous abuse. I would like to come back to this review in about a year to see what the shape of the belt is like then and add to my review. So far though this has been one of the best belts I have ever owned and have to admit it is worth the money. I am even tempted in buying one in brown to go with my casual wear.

To remember that their is a guaranty with the product.
I like the quality and the warranty , I just did wish wit that price that it came with a belt punch and a treatment for the belt maintenance. But over all I am a happy customer. Thanks
