Works for BMW CarPlay
This also works to enable carplay, for aftermarket enabling for older BMWs, such as the F chassis that did not come with CarPlay enabled.The antenna is way too long for this use, but could be left coiled up behind the console.

Got this for my Goldwing motorcycle
The built-in antenna on my new Goldwing Tour motorcycle is weak. I found an article online where someone installed a new antenna and ran it up to the front of the motorcycle (mounted just under the wind screen). I decided to try it and it worked out great! It's only a bit better than the stock antenna and I was hoping for a more dramatic improvement. But, it's better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick!

With software update gave apple car play in 2018 340i
Along with a software download from bimmer-unlock.com this gave my 2018 bmw 340i the Apple car play it needed and should have came with from the factory. Install was easy only a few clips and 6 t25 torx bit screws.

Poor reception- laggy connection unless phone is right next to it
The reception is extremely poor as others have mentioned. The phone has to be sitting still basically right next to the antenna. When connected to CarPlay music skips and lags (like old CD’s) and navigation functions are incredibly slow. You could turn and there is a several second delay before the map will update. To top it off, it has a hard time maintaining a connection in general so you have to frequently re-pair your phone.Long story short, just buy the OEM BMW antenna. The price is $22 and the reception is perfect. Don’t waste your time and money on this junk like I did!
