Reminds me a bit of "The Incredibles" where Dad and daughter have superpowers only in this case the focus is more on the relationship between the two which I thought was a novel approach. This passage from the book really struck me, "I looked over at her and saw simultaneously a great superhero, self-assured and powerful, and the little girl who had tumbled into bed begging for a story from me." Very glad I dug this back out of my archives and would like to give "The Bulletproof Badge" a look, too, in hopes the storyline is approached in the same intelligent fashion.

A truly first–rate piece of sci–fi
What a first–rate short story this is! This is my first excursion into this particular superhero universe and I must say I am impressed with the depth of character development I find in so short a piece.A Super father dealing with his Super daughter and a night on the town for them. Dad really pulls off the ultimate surprise with this trip into town. She comes out of it excited and having a better relationship with life in general.

Very Brief, but Interesting
Quite liked this. Part of me almost want to rate this with four stars because it is so short (It only takes about 10 minutes to read). This is a very short story, that I really did want more of. Its not really great for a second read; but still very well-written and interesting.

A Good Day - Arm day at the gym
I love family stories and this one is a delightful father-daughter bonding time in a gym. (SHORT STORY)Picked up while free on Kindle.

Unusual
Not your standard hero story. A short enjoyable story of a cop dad bonding with his teen daughter. Genetic mutations seem to be the basis for everyone's abilities, but it is not blatant.

Fun short read
This is my first introduction to the Harry Blaine Stories. Short story, introducing some of the major characters and the world-building motif. Interesting enough that I look forward to reading more in the series.

A great intro
This was a great intro into Mr. Healy's superhero universe. I like stories about superheroes during their downtime. Powerman's gym is an interesting setting.
