Amazing starter espresso maker
I made the mistake of originally buying the Mr. Coffee espresso maker to try to save some money, but it was a huge let down. What it produced was not espresso -- it was just a really bad shot of watered down coffee. So we returned it and got this Krups model, and it is AWESOME. It produces super smooth and flavorful espresso -- very similar to what you get at the coffee shop. We've been using it every day for about 3 weeks now, and don't have a single complaint!

Not worth the work unless you a coffee snob maybeâŠ
Used it once, boxed it up for return. We have been using Krups espresso steam machines for 20 years and loved them, until they die of old age or parts get too hard to find. I thought it was time to âupgradeâ to a pump machine. The unit set up easy enough and although the water heated up quicker than older unitâs, the additional steps made things WAY too complicated. The frothing worked good but extremely time consuming to clean the nozzle unit which had milk âbakedâ on. Unlike older models, the frothing unit is not stationary which made it difficult to clean despite following the instructions given. The older units have a larger grounds basket and made dark rich coffee quickly. I thought the water reserve was a plus, but if you are not paying close attention you can overflow the 300ml in a few seconds. The exact grind must be found or it will overflow from the basket. The âporta filterâ aka the basket holder unit takes a strong tug to engage fully. After all that I did notice good crema on the coffee but it seems weak even after trying 2 different grinds fine and very fine. Very disappointed especially what a pain it was to try and clean the frother nozzle. After returning this I bought the old steam unit on eBay so life will be hassle free again ;)

Can't handle finely ground coffee
My first batch of espresso resulted in an empty cup and a struggling pump. I was using pre-ground espresso from Trader Joes that was the standard finely ground espresso. When packed into the filter cup it just couldn't push the water through it. I then tried standard medium grind coffee and the espresso flowed out like a waterfall. Much to my surprise, it had an incredibly thick, rich layer of crema on top and the espresso tasted great! The key is to use a coarser grind than you think you'll need and everything comes out great. I've thus far had a Mr Coffee pump espresso machine that lasted several years, then I've gone through two DeLonghi pump espresso machines over the last 5 years. I decided to try a Krups this time around. So far the flow rate and crema production is significantly better than the other machines I've had. I hope it lasts a long time.

Krups espresso maker
Most of the reviews on here are not for this machine, rather for some other Krups coffee maker. Look at the pictures, read the text. I don't know if there is such a thing as a good espresso maker for around a hundred bucks, but this is not it. I bought this to use while my regular espresso machine is in for repairs. My intent was for it to be of temporary use so I wasn't looking to spend much. I had a Krups espresso maker in the past and it was okay - not great, but okay. Well, this one is hugely disappointing. It seems like something that was made as a toy espresso maker. It is light and flimsy . On the positive side, it heats up quickly, and the pump seems to work well. Edit: photo addedI am trying to tell you that all these 5 star reviews, and all the "answered questions," are for a very different coffee maker, not the espresso maker.

Reliable company, very good little machine.
This is a nice little expresso machine. My old Krups expresso machine finally gave up (after ten+ years), and Krups is a reliable brand. I make expresso every day, so dependability is important to me. This one is small enough to sit on a small counter, and simple to use. It has a well for water which is good. Makes lots of foam (crema for you aficionados). I'm very happy with it. Nothing fancy, just expresso and a steam attachment. Two small drawbacks, which don't bother me - you need to stand by the turn off switch while it is running because it has no automatic turn off, and it does make noise while brewing. Kind of a motor growl. But if you make a lot of expresso, want a reliable machine from a dependable company for a pretty reasonable price, this is a very good option to try.

Amazed!
Ok this thing is cheap. But good.Yes. Low price... but itâs made from as much plastic as they could use.Itâs so light, you have to support it to get the coffee grinds in and out.But it makes espresso. Glorious cream, perfect temperature, easy enough to clean.I was doubting my purchase straight from the box till my first cuppa ....no more expensive machines for me...I just want good espresso without thh HT r fancy price tag. đ

Everything was perfect, good product, good delivery, what else to ask for ?
It is OK... It makes a pretty good coffee but it does not compare in quality of materials with my oldKRUPS Coffee-espresso maker, this one was built like a tank, during it's 17 years of life it made about 15.000 cups. This new Coffee-espresso is fortunately much quieter, it makes a good foam, (maybe a little too much) and requires slightly less coffee grind for the same cup, probably because of a more efficient and hotter water pump. The taste is very good and less bitter.
