They did a GREAT job of customer service, and the new unit appears to be working just fine.Original review:This unit must have a short or something inside of it, because it wouldn't stay powered on. And when it wasn't being powered itself, it cut power to whatever was plugged into it as well. For the price, I'm very happy as it does what it says it does. I bought it to see how much power my computers were using now that they are running under load 24/7 mining crypto currency. Definitely was worth the investment. As another has mentioned, it does not have a backlight, so it makes reading the screen quite difficult unless you are staring at it eye level, or it's in a brightly lit room. I had a flashlight nearby that I would just point at it to read it easily from a distance.

The instruction sheet is unbelievably poorly written; totally incomprehensible to me. So I just plugged it in and it works fine. The only thing is, due to the poor instructions I am unable to set any of the features. Fortunately all I need to know is how many watts are consumed over a given time period, which it seems to be showing. The package arrived promptly and so far it is working well. The display is easy to read, and the meter seems to be of solid construction. Other reviewers have said the meter does not have a backlight, but mine does have one. So far I think this is a good meter for the money, should be very useful in determining whether to replace old appliances for new more efficient ones.

I didn't get far into reviewing this item before deciding it wasn't for me. The main detractors were the size and the orientation of the plug. Firstly, this thing is HUMONGOUS will will crowd out your power strip. It is actually so large as to cover up the opposite row on ALL of my power strips. Not a single one could deal with this space hog.Next, the blue light, although bright, is obnoxious. I will be returning this and carefully selecting a device where the manufacturer has used it in real world situations (At least that's my goal)

Works well

Awesome little item to learn your power use in each area of the house. If one item is drawing more power then you want it may be worth replacing that item. Like say, an old fridge. Fun and handle tool.

It works as described. Although it does NOT have a backlight, I did know this prior to purchase, it was more of an issue than I thought. Still works great, just a little hard to see unless you have it in a well-lit area.Good buy!
