I own a Garmin GPS that comes with a friction mount stand I can place on the dashboard. The GPS clips onto the little ball on the stand. Occasionally, it's useful to be able to clip my phone onto it, and I've been searching for a phone holder that will allow me to do this. Tried a few phone holders, but the ball was the wrong size. Then I saw exactly what I needed in my friend's car.I bought it right away, and now I have another option where to mount the phone or the GPS. I purchased this cup phone holder and it works great! I have a Toyota FJ Cruiser and it fits in the cup holder perfectly and stays snug. As you can see in my picture that it’s the perfect height. In the car the phone is used as a MP3 player essentially, so this holder gives perfect view and access to change songs. Also the phone you see in the picture is the iPhone 7 Plus, I was worried it wouldn’t accommodate a large phone but it works well with a larger phone. It also holds the phone snuggly in place, I mean the phone isn’t going anywhere even if I slam on brakes.

This is the box, two pieces of plastic and NO INSTRUCTIONS or PICTURES as to how the ball on the end of the flexible arm is supposed to go into the flat holder! I've written to the seller and to the 7 people who wrote glowing reviews, of which I don't believe! I've spent WAAY too much time trying to figure this one out. It's going back!

It broke off at the pivot point where the phone is secured. It needs to have a metal joint in that area. I modified it with a screw creatively altered with the head cut off so I could screw it both ways. Not as sturdy as I would have expected. It lasted about 2 weeks.

The hold is very adjustable and does not impact your vehicle at all except to use up one cup holder. Mine did not come with instructions, but I figured it out. Otherwise, if you have trouble and no instructions, just contact the seller. They have a helpful sheet.

In the past, if I received a phone call while driving, I would pull over, take off the seat belt and dig in my pocket for my phone, but not any more. I find this product to be well made.

I used it in a rental truck driving cross country and it fit perfectly, was the right height to see the phone for GPS navigation hands free. Love the stem and the flexibility.

It wouldn't sit straight in cup holder and kept rotating the phone. Tried to tighten it up and the plastic tab broke off after about a month of light use.
