Excellent and Reliable Mixer
I own the Cuisinart Power Advantage 5-Speed Handheld Mixer since early April 2009 and I am quiet happy with it thus far. In all fairness, this is my second handheld mixer and my previous mixer ( Proctor Silex 62535 Bowl Rest 5-Speed Mixer, White ) was a very weak mixer, which simply did not have the power to mix any semi-thick dough. This Cuisinart mixer has significantly more power (220 Watts) and has little trouble mixing most dough, excluding bread dough of course. This mixer has an automatic feedback mechanism which was the main reason I decided to purchase it. Unlike most mixers which supply their motors with different electric powers at different settings, this mixer supplies electric power partially based on the mixing speeds. In other words, it will supply an extra burst of power to the motor when the mixing speed is slow, like mixing tough dough. It only does so temporarily to avoid over heating the motor. It has five speed settings, which is exactly what I want. For those who like additional speed settings, there is the Cuisinart HM-70 Power Advantage 7-Speed Hand Mixer, Stainless and White . Keep in mind, their top speeds are the same as they are both powered by a 220 Watts motor. In my opinion, the slow speed setting of this mixer is a bit too fast. Beside the power, the mixer has three other features which I like a lot. First, it can sit nicely on a mixing bowl (when the power is off). Second, the power cord can swing left or right to allow the unit to securely sit upright. I have uploaded two customer images to illustrate this. Third, the beaters are easy to clean. Finally, the beaters can be effortlessly ejected by using the level. Looking at the photo, you may think this mixer has a semi-dull black. In reality, it has a shiny glossy black, which I think, looks even better. For those who prefer white color there is the: Cuisinart HM-50 Power Advantage 5-Speed Hand Mixer, Stainless and White In summary, this is a powerful and affordable handheld mixer (not powerful compared to stand mixers) Update: I do have one compliant. Years ago, customers were able to take their home appliances apart to fix them. Unfortunately, this mixer is not one of those. Cuisinart have sealed off the screw holes and prevented customers from opening up the mixer. My mixer was making some scratchy noises and I could tell it just needed some machine oil/lubrication. Instead of taking the unit apart and adding oil, I had no choice but to pour the oil from outside through the exhaust fan hole, hoping it will get to the place. It did somewhat, and now the noise has been minimized. However, it should have been more straightforward than this. I still think this is a very nice mixer for its utility and affordable price, and I would still strongly recommend other potential buyers to consider it. However, it would have been nicer if the screw holes are not sealed. *Update on late Nov 2009*: The mixer is still working fine -- bought it since April 2009. The scratchy metal noise has not come back for some time. By the way, I use this mixer about 3 times per month for cookies and pastries. I hope this illustrates how often this mixer is being used. I am very satisfied with the product thus far. *Update on Jun 26, 2010*: Still working fine. *Update on May 31, 2011*: Still working. *Update on Jan 05, 2012*: Still working

Great Hand Mixer
Love this hand mixer and have tried all speeds. They all do their job and it’s very easy to use. Great quality, size, looks, and design. This brand is reasonably priced.

Powerful
I adore this hand mixer. I had an old Kitchenaid hand mixer that my mother in law had given to me some years ago. It was pre-loved by her and served me for over 10 years. This, however, is another animal. It is very powerful. I use it often to shred cooked chicken for tacos or sandwiches - I learned that on the Pinterest. It's very quick. I have also made cakes with this mixer, it does a great job with whatever I throw at it. Another plus is the simple design of the beaters. They are very easy to clean and I appreciate that.

Powerful!
This ergonomic little mixer powers right through thick batters and whips cream in seconds! I was concerned because the beaters looked flimsy in the photos but they’re not at all. They are well made and very easy to clean. The only thing I would change is that the lowest speed is still very fast. Perhaps the seven speed Cuisinart hand mixer is better in this regard. Overall, this is a great little mixer for the price. Now, I rarely opt for my heavy stand mixer as I can use this one anywhere with any bowl. I love it!

Great mixer, powerful yet sleek!
I purchased this hand mixer to replace a cordless rechargeable one that hung on the wall. I wanted something more sturdy and with the power to really mix or whip well, which my little fancy cordless one certainly wasn't. Potatoes were impossible to whip for creamed style, and cake mixes would still have streaks of egg white showing after many minutes of blending with the cordless mixer. Pies were frustrating as I would end up having to mix again by hand any ingredients that had flour, sugar, or eggs and milk. After reading hundreds of reviews on Amazon and checking other websites, too, for more ratings, I chose this Cuisanart and couldn't be happier. It's very good looking and would go well in both a modern looking kitchen or a retro style one, and is complimentary to almost any colors. Very powerful she is, too, but at the same time doesn't throw out or slap ingredients out of the bowl even on the highest speed setting ( using the appropriate sized bowl, of course ). It mixes and blends beautifully and whips up lovely softly creamed potatoes without turning them into liquid or without leaving a bunch of lumps, either. I especially love how easy the attachments pop out with just one finger pressed down on the release. My only minor complaint ( and VERY minor ) is the newer thinner tines on the attachment ( beater )that comes with the mixer. All the recent models from most name brands have gone over to the thinner tines on the beaters, and these have the tiny thin twists, too, but I worry that I will eventually warp or bend them. So far they seem pretty sturdy, though, and haven't shown any warping or changes in shape even after a lot of use. I do wash them by hand however, although the beater attachments are listed as dishwasher safe, I believe. The outer case is shiny black with just a touch of chrome, and very easy to clean, just wipes off with a slightly damp paper towel if any spill gets on it and it fits easily into my rather small drawers in my tiny kitchen, with the attachments going into the silverware tray. I'm completely satisfied with my purchase as it was just what I was hoping for...reliable, attractive, sturdy, and very powerful, not to mention by a top brand maker of quality small kitchen appliances .

Works great
Works great without too many useless bell and whistles. Five speed fill all my needs and the motor is powerful and handles everything I throw at it.

This machines works on 120v and is not compatible with Indian electricity supply which is 230v. This will burn and can be fire hazzard.

Cuisinart makes the best hand mixers going. They are well made, easy to use and look nice too. The only downside to these hand mixers is they do not come with dough hooks, other than that they are wonderful. The motor is very strong and does not bog down even at low speed. I really like that the low speed is a low speed and works very well for starting to mix the ingredients without splattering it every where like some other brands of hand mixers that I have had in the past. I like this hand mixer from Cuisinart so much I ordered two of them. I also really like the mixing beaters as they do not have a center post so things do not get stuck in them and they beat cream really fast and well and do a wonderful job of mixing stuff for cakes and cookies. I have not had any trouble with the beaters breaking apart, so far so good and I have used these beaters to mix heavy cookie dough on more than one occasion. As for noise I have had some hand mixers that sounded like a Mack truck was driving through the house at all speeds. I will say that this mixer is noisy on hi but not as noisy as some and it does not sound like a Mack truck going through the house. I defiantly would recommend Cuisinart had mixers to anybody that wants a good quality hand mixer that does not bog down mixing items like cookie dough.

I was disappointed to find that the appliance met with US standards and could not operate in Australia without additional connectivity. I am surprised that its common practice to sell appliances that do not comply with the customers county of origin and without prior notice.

This replaced my 20yr old model, same brand, works beautifully, doesn't bog down with cookie dough, lives up to the quality we expect from the brand. And it was less money than the original. Highly recommend
