Gimbal's Scottie Dogs All Natural Black Licorice - Real Licorice Root and Pure Anise - 2.75 oz Bag

I have looked for good tasting licorice for a long time. Most of it seems to be wheat and sugar. This is the first time that I have truly been satisfied with not only the taste but I do not have my regular allergy afterwards. I got one bag that was 2.75 ounces and I paid $16 total. Do you think I'll do it again? Not on your freaking life. Even though I love the candy who in the hell has that kind of money. If I could get around Amazon and just buy it from you direct and through the US Post Office I might think about it.

I.bought these for my dad for Father's Day. He loves black licorice. When they arrived I was dissatisfied. The packages are do small you could put them in your pocket. I bought 2. It was quite expensive for 2 little packs of candy. I know it had the natural extract in them, which does make it taste better, but dang, did they go mining for that extract themselves? Next year I will drive 45 minutes and get the Amish made licorice. You get 2lbs. for $5.99. and it also has the extract in it.

These are really delicious! I decided to get them on a whim because I hadn't had any licorice in years. My husband even liked them and he doesn't care for licorice. They are a bit pricey for how many you get, but I think it's worth the "splurge". The size of each dog is nice. One or two and you are pretty satisfied. So they should last a little while... if you can restrain yourself from eating one every hour that it.

The flavor of these is perfect - bold black licorice with just enough sweetness (maybe a little overdone but that's fine).The texture of these is my only nitpick - very chewy and sticky. I don't mind the chewiness, but they stick to the teeth. I normally don't mind a little stickiness but it crosses the line, so I probably won't get them again. If they were a bit cheaper and less sticky I'd be a return customer for sure.

Holy SMOKES! This bag is so tiny I need a magnifying glass to see it. I bought this for a friend and I'm embarrassed to give it to hersince the Best By date is stamped 05/30/18! That's six months ago and I'm just hoping the licorice is still fresh. Frankly, I could spendThat much money at a local candy store and come home with larger amount of f-r-e-s-h licorice.

These were just OK! I've missed licorice for 5 years, there aren't many GF options out there. I hesitated on buying this for a LONG time (over a year!) because I felt the price was high. The dogs are thick and chewy, and stick to my teeth in an "I need to go brush my teeth now" way. I can really only eat one, but I'm also not a candy person so don't rely on that too much. The flavor is strong - it might be me not having licorice anything for years, but one dog is almost too much.I was terribly disappointed to see the same littly bag of Scotties in my local And That! (basically a rebranded Christmas Tree Shops) for $1.00!! I paid over 5 for this one. Kicked myself for not being a little more patient, but ah - life's short.

I personally don't like black licorice but my wife loves them. She found these and wanted to try them out since she read a lot of good reviews about them. She was not disappointed and loves these so much we bought a bigger bag. I tried a bite and it definitely has a very spiced flavor to it that black licorice lovers will like.
