Pedag merges 3 elements: Nature, Science and Technology to produce products that are good for the modern foot. Nature is found in Pedags use of high quality natural materials such as vegetable tanned leather, pure cotton, wool, sisal, water based adhesives and active carbon and silver ions for odor control. Science is found in Pedags use of supportive, anatomically correct footbeds and inserts that support the arches, muscles and ligaments of the foot. Supporting the foot adequately provides a base from which to support the ankles, hips and spine. Pedag orthotics stress Support rather than simple Cushioning. You will find Pedag orthotics that address: Heel pain, fallen arches, spreading feet, plantar fasciitis, heel spurs, Pronation and Supination, different leg lengths, Achilles Tendonitis and many other foot problems. Pedag is different. Even our flat, non-orthotic insoles are different because they too combine Nature, Science and Technology. Pedag insoles (orthotic or plain) allow the foot to breathe inside the shoe, keeping feet and shoes fresh. Did you know the foot produces a shot glass of perspiration daily. Insoles that absorb moisture, breathe and prevent odor are necessary for healthy feet. Technology is found in Pedags modern manufacturing facilities in Germany (even though much of the production of our insoles is still done by hand), stringent quality controls and introduction of cutting edge technologies such as nano ions of silver for permanent odor prevention in several of our insoles and an innovative new material to insulate against cold.

Breathable, high-quality sheepskin leather, great price.
I have been purchasing these insoles for nearly ten years, and I am so glad that Pedag has not changed them. The quality and workmanship (made in Germany, still!) are unparalleled for the cost, which has fluctuated between $10-15 the past decade. They are thin, comfortable, and breathable, and a wonderful upgrade to any standard leather or synthetic insole (especially). I have even placed them in some of my "artisan" shoes (shoes in the category of $500+) because they simply cannot be beat in the comfort/breathability category. Once you break them in, they mold to your feet and are even more "cozy."Please keep in mind these are not for arch or heel support, nor will they significantly change the fit of a shoe (though for some shoes that are just very slightly too large, this can solve the problem). For the record, I actually like that these are thin and do not affect the fit, as I usually wear my shoes without socks. These insoles, however, do run small and narrow. I typically wear an EU 40-41 depending on the brand but need to order 42-43 for these insoles, so definitely size up 1-2 sizes when you order, perhaps even more if you have very wide feet (then trim to fit). Mine consistently fit right out of the box when I order two sizes larger. Thanks, Pedag, for continuing to offer such a high quality product! As long as you have this product unchanged, you will have my business. Highly, highly recommended.

Impressed on first day, perfect for dress shoes
I wore these all day today and didn't really notice them which is exactly what I was looking for.The shoes (by Perry Ellis) are relatively inexpensive and are for working in an office. A small spot on the inside had worn out (small hole on the ball of my foot) probably due to the way I walk, stand and sit. Not enough of a reason to replace the shoes but also uncomfortable. These insoles fit perfectly (size 9). Not too big, not too small, just right, no sliding. They are relatively thin which works well in this situation but so thin that just having them in didn't take away the feeling of the hole. I ended up patching the hole a little with some duct tape (which alone would not feel good) then put these in. Now the shoes feel perfectly normal again. In fact, my feet likes these better than the material in the shoe.Another thing I like about these is the way they look. When I take my shoes off, it's not obvious that there's something "extra" in there. They almost look like they are original to the shoes.Time will tell how well they hold up. I'll probably update this review at some point.UPDATE: It's been 6 months. I've been wearing these 5 days a week for work since. They're holding up fairly well. The edges down by the toes have curled up and there are some worn spots but overall it's still very usable. The shoe's size is a 9 and while the size 42 insoles fit, because the edges are curling up, they slide forward a bit. My feet haven't really noticed but I'll definitely get 43 next time. Per their suggestion, I take them out of my shoes every day which helps a lot with smell. And I spray them every once in a while. In fact, they don't smell at all. Still very impressed with these insoles.

Measuring didn't help--edit at bottom
I have a very old pair of leather boots that I adore. I desperately need an insole that works with them so I can wear them again. I took out the old insoles and measured them carefully. I compared the size chart and ordered the size that was the perfect match. When I got them, the new insole is significantly shorter than the old ones.I love the look and feel of these. I will reorder the next size up and keep my fingers crossed that they work! I need something thin and slick that won't grab my socks when I put on my boots. These are the perfect texture and thin enough that they will work wonderfully for my needs IF I can figure out the sizing! Also, I have been burned a lot lately with size charts. I can't tell you how many shoes I've ordered using the size charts and they've been totally off.I see that some reviewers say ordering 2 sizes up works for them?Edit--the next size up was still too short. I will come back and let you know if ordering 2 sizes up actually works.I'll update when I order the new ones!UPDATE-- Going up two sizes worked!! However, please know that sizing up doesn't mean you will get a wider insert. If you have a super wide foot, I'm not sure that this insert is going to function the way you want it to. I am just so very happy to have my old boots functional again. They are almost 40 years old now and all I've ever done is replace the laces once and the insoles this one time. They really do not make boots like they used to!!!I changed my original rating of a 3 to a 4 because I am very happy with the end results. It just annoys the heck out of me that it took so many attempts to get the correct size--especially since I followed their measurement guide. Knowing to go up two sizes is helpful and I would certainly buy from this company again if other shoes need their insoles replaced.I forgot to add that I finally ended up with a size 9 insert for a size 7 boot.

Real leather keeps foot stink away
Real leather is the way to go if you don't want stinky feet. We have ordered lots of there's for our shoes and we like them. My husband and I do a lot of walking and they hold up.They fit easily in various shoe types and they are nice and thin but not too thin so you can keep original insoles in.

Order 2 sizes up! Otherwise good
I am very annoyed at how ridiculously undersized these are. I ordered size 13 and it has silly small. Huge gap at front and back, slid around.I ordered a size 15 figuring I could trim it down, but they fit perfectly into a size 13M shoe.Keep in mind these 13M shoes were too tight with the inappropriately thick insoles (marketing gimmick). So I ordered these reasonable insoles. With the size 15 insole now these shoes fit perfectly.

Not worth it
It barely fit on my boot and the insoles did not provide any confort whatsoever. Will be returning these promptly.
