For the price you can't beat this. Thaw before using and add it at the end of your recipe, as it only needs to be heated. I didn't have a bunch of surimi, but it does have an interesting creamy texture, so you could just pick it out and use it seperately. I took off a star for flavor for that. Shrimp was different sizes, not all tiny. Nice mix of the components.My second shipment arrived a day early! Yay. Dry ice was still frozen and all the individual packages were well frozen. I put my bags in the freezer immediately. There are 12 reseable packages. I did purchase again and will continue at this rate.A happy accident revealed the best way to prepare the surimi. It deep fries beautifully to make a tasty appetizer.

There was no dry ice packed with it. So it wasn't frozen. I dared the chance to eat a bag of it even tho it wasn't frozen or very cold. I didn't get sick, so hopefully the winter weather made it from spoiling.People who like seafood, like the different flavors of crab, mussels, squid, etc. We don't like it to all taste fishy. And this was very fishy. The little mussels were sandy as well, and that's even after I rinsed it all.But if none of that bothers you, this is a superb deal, I couldn't believe the amount u get for the price. I will be giving mine away as I didn't care for the taste.

Sent as a gift. Recipient did not open immediately (left on porch a day). The ice was gone but the food still well frozen. They were very excited about it. Said it was very good. Enjoyed the opportunity to sample seafood not normally available.

We love making seafood pasta and pizza, so this blend seemed like a great shortcut to having all the ingredients. For the most part, the contents are OK.However the pseudo-crab is some sort of slimy fish conglomeration that never cooks to the solid consistency that would be crab-like -- it is not even good if you just think of it a "fish".Thrown in a pot for gumbo or seafood pasta blends, the result is good . . . but not great. We'll likely look elsewhere when we've worked through this 12-pack.

I have not eaten any yet but intend to soon. It was packed well and frozen with ice visible - other boxes had moisture but no visible dry ice, so I was happy with this. Now I need to figure out what to cook! And THAT I'm very happy to do. could I do a curry?. Will add to this when I make something. I gave a 4 to flavor etc because I do not know yet. The arrival of this package makes my order complete. With circumstances as they've been for well over a year... I am thrilled to have fish that isnt chopped into a can....Thank you Amazon and Sea Best!. EDIT: Had varying success with this mix (admittedly never had used before though I've had squid and mussels etc separately. I found the faux fish mushy, not everything seemed "done" equally. I separated that out and added it at last minute. It is very good with tomato, lotsa garlic and rice. I also tried it as a stir fry. It was an affordable way to have some variety and in pre frozen sizing good for supper and some leftivers next day. .

To be fair I have not tried this product yet. I am apprehensive due to the fact that it was received much later than I was told to expect it. It was also marked “dry ice” but when I opened the box there wasn’t a piece of ice to be seen and the bags were barely frozen. I debated on throwing the whole box away but just threw the bags into my freezer hoping for the best. Lesson learned I guess.

Came frozen,which I was worried about,but packed well and arrived perfectly frozen and undamaged.I appreciate this very much..12 pounds of seafood would be sad to lose.
