How I Built My Own Four-Wheel Bicycle

What a great idea!
The premise of the book is how to build a golf cart-like contraption out of an old bicycle and a load of PVC, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Having built a 6-wheeled custom critter wheelchair out of PVC, I know how friendly PVC is to work with, and having read this book I'm considering adapting these ideas to make something for myself. I don't need a two-seater or 2 sets of pedals, for instance. The pictures are nice and add an awful lot to the explanations given. VERY highly recommended!

Buy it
I liked it but he was a little fuzzy on some details that probably would be clearer if you were assembling the bike at the same time as reading it. I did finally understand what the author meant and why he said it that way. I think he has a good and useful design. He admits it's over-built but I've seen other seemingly good designs in for sagging issues because they weren't over-built. I like the fact he has recycled (no pun intended) a used bike and built all the parts himself that he added to the used bike. I never thought of using a kid's bike to start with, which is a good idea. I have my own ideas on how to do the back end of the bike but the author did say his book was out there to inspire other designs as well as follow his if you want to. For the price of the e-book you can't pass it up.

Hard to follow
While the information is probably useful, finding it is difficult. This seems to be written in a "stream of consciousness" style, that leaves the reader often confused, or wondering why a topic was only partially explained. While I value what the author was trying to provide in this book, I wish it would have been proofed by someone more thoroughly, as much of the content is scattered throughout, in no discernable order.

Plans are not for big fat people. Beware.
The plans are intended for smaller people. I'm 6'5" and weigh in at 350 Lbs. I tried to change the plans to accommodate my size but just couldn't get it to work.

Great guide book!
It is NOT a recipe book, it will however (I believe) help you navigate your own journey through the building process.I enjoyed the conversational tone. Made it very easy to relax and imagine chatting over his creation.

Inspiration
This manual gives the reader an idea of what to expect when planning a similar project as the author. Lots of pictures are helpful for people who learn visually.

Not what it claims.
I bought this for my brother for Christmas and this is what he says," To say the the "Book" was incomplete would be a gross understatement! First, it was not a book; it was a few sheets of paper with tiniest bit of instruction. Lacking instructions and diagrams on many aspects of the "bike"; Including but not limited to: how to mount chain drive and axles. Missing steering, shifting, braking, systems. No suggestion of best parts to use. No list of part suppliers." I would not buy it again.
