Great WITH careful installation.
Our dryer had the 'slinky'-foil exhaust duct originally. Those are lint traps in and of themselves and are easily pinched off and impede airflow. So, if your goal is to smash your dryer back against a wall as far as you can, buy more 'slinky' duct. This duct is not for you! This duct kit is a good compromise between ridged, cut to fit duct and 'slinky' duct. But it needs to be handled properly when installing.Hint 1: To install the white hose caps, gently expand the end of duct end from the edge for about 1/2". That will spread the ribs of the duct enough to for the threads on the inside of the end-cap to screw on. Note that the end-cap screws on in the opposite direction than what you would think (there's a arrow molded into the cap.) You'll need to hold the duct firmly (without crushing) to screw the end-cap on. You can do it yourself if you have big hands but you may need a helper for this. I did it by sitting down with the duct across my lap and hugging the duct against my gut while twisting on each end-cap (it will get quite hard to turn).Hint 2: The end-caps have a flange to prevent you from crushing the hose against the wall for the inevitable 90 degree turns needed at each. Slide an end-cap onto the wall duct first. Position the white flange away from the you'll be bending the first turn, then gently stretch and turn the duct only as much as needed to guide it toward the dryer duct. Slide that other end-cap onto the dryer and test.Hint 3: If you have a stacked washer/dryer setup you have more hoses and cords to deal with as you guide the duct to its destination. Cords and hoses are usually more flexible so give the duct the straightest path you can. (Use zip-ties to gather hoses and cords out of the way.)Hint 4: If you accidentally crush a section of the duct, slide you arm int and push the dent back out from the inside as much as possible. (Don't ask me how I know that!!)

Worth the price for me
I ordered a dryer and when they delivered it(6 days late) they had the wrong power connection and left in a hurry with no vent hose..so I was already frustrated, BUT I ordered this on Amazon and 2 days later it came. I just came home from working a long 11 hours today and knew I had to hook it up. To my surprise this product is AMAZING. Took me about 30 seconds to screw on end caps. Had my father in law hold one side while I pulled the other to stretch the 8ft. Side note, don't pull hard, it's strong material, but still can rip easy. Took me about 10 seconds to hook it up to my dryer and another 10 seconds to hook it up to the output. The job took less the 5 mins with ease. I paid 10 dollars for this and hands down worth every penny.

THIS IS A GOOD BUY unless you don’t have a lot of rear clearance behind your dryer!
I, like another user, have a dryer that sits close to the rear wall, and yes, this vent’s collars that affix to the dryer and vent outlet prevent me from pushing the dryer back further lest I crush the hose itself. In other words, this hose does what the company claims it’ll do and what it’s designed to do.When my plumber came over to check my dryer hook-ups (I converted my gas dryer to run on propane) and noticed I didn’t have clamps on my vent hose, I asked him to check that part of the setup too. His words: “Wow — that hose is on there good and tight on both ends! Wouldn’t have thought that was possible!” (And I didn’t even have to use the included gasket.) The hose does what the company claims it’ll do and what it’s designed to do.The connectors must be attached to the hose by the user, and it was tricky for a bit until I realized the hose itself is threaded like a screw, and that with gentle hands, the connectors screw onto the hose at both ends smoothly and securely. No, it’s not going to be as secure as metal screwed into metal, but it isn’t flimsy either; I was able to shake and drop and shimmy the assembly quite a bit with no damage at all.So if you want a dryer vent hose that’s easy to use, a snap to install, has durability, does what it’s designed to do, doesn’t cost an arm and a leg, and doesn’t require any extra parts, choose this item. And for the love of all things holy, don’t listen to these naysayers who complain about how this hose is difficult to use or breaks easily or isn’t worth it or is shorter than the advertised length or is a worthless bust — clearly they either didn’t read the user instructions, think foil hoses should be as sturdy as steel, lack the patience to handle items with necessary care, didn’t extend the hose to its full length (it expands rather like a slinky or the articulated neck of a “bendy straw”), or are simply too vexed that they broke the hose themselves and too egotistical to admit user error that they wrote scathing reviews to put blame on the hose and the company that makes it. Don’t believe the hype. This hose isn’t exactly a perfect solution for me, but it works, and it works pretty darned well...as long as you read and follow the directions and treat the product with proper care.

AWESOME!!! (at least for me)
I know there's many bad or meh reviews for this product but it was a genius design for my use. First, the aluminum tube is the same crappy quality as you get for the same price at any of the big box home improvement stores and this one is cheaper, than many of those. I, unfortunately, have had to buy many over the years. The genius is in the couplers at each end. I, a complete klutz at even the simplest home maintenance task, had no problems connecting the couplers. It was easy!!! And didn't even indent the aluminum tube.Lengthening the tube seemed easier and less damaging than many off my previous purchases. Now the payoff: each end of the duct went effortlessly onto the dryer and the wall vent pipes. No painful time spent trying to get the duct onto them far enough to screw the clamp tight because there was no clamp!!!Easy! Great value. Will definitely buy again if necessary.
