Fun and informative
I learned quite a bit about the early carnie days of wrestling from this. I do wish it focused just a little bit more on the Monday Night Wars era though, considering its significance. Still, I would say its pretty thorough and was entertaining throughout. My only real nitpicks are that the author made one factual error that I noticed. On page 157 when discussing the Chris Benoit murders, the author stated "But while Benoit was on synthetic testosterone at the time (not uncommon for those who had previously taken steroids, as Benoit had)... there were no drugs in his system that could explain his actions."The issue with this is that anabolic steroids ARE synthetic testosterone, which seemed to confuse the author. Same thing with TRT (testosterone replacement therapy) or HRT (hormone replacement therapy) when some MMA fighter gets popped and people discuss it. HRT and TRT are the (commercially friendly) names of the treatment, NOT the drug theyre actually using to treat you with (steroids). Again, the only 'synthetic testosterone' to exist are various formulations of anabolic steroids. You dont go to the doctor and ask for some 'synthetic testosterone' or 'inject some TRT' lol.Call it whatever you want, but thats what it is. So this means that his statement of there being "no drugs in his system" was also erroneous, as there WERE anabolic steroids in him if he was using "synthetic testosterone". No, its not really a big deal, but I had to point this out for being poorly researched. Also, wtf is up with the Hulk Hogan and Steve Austins faces? Does the artist not like them or something? They seem noticeably ugly compared to everyone else's illustrations.

A Five-Star Frog Splash of Comics and Wrestling
I've loved professional wrestling and comic books since I was a young child and now that I'm an adult child, this book was pretty much the perfect thing for me. Aubrey and Chris tag-team to take readers on a crash course through wrestling history, revealing the background and origins of the phrases I see people use on Twitter all the time.Wanna know what kayfabe means? Interested in learning about just how exactly the WWE got so freaking huge? This book will take you by the hand, whip you into the ropes, and gently dropkick you in the face with an enjoyable blend of sequential art and history lessons. Perfect for any fan of pro grapps and funny books.

Everything You Ever Need to Know About Wrestling (Or At Least Most of It)
I've been following Aubrey as a wrestling commentator for about five years. I have always appreciated his ability to analyze pro wrestling in a way that brings out the best of it, the most rich elements of it that show everyone why we're not just weirdos for watching this bizarre spectacle. This book has synthesized all of Aubrey's philosophies into one amazing package, filled with rich insight, incredible illustrations and loving tribute. I'm not even a comic book guy and I still loved this. Anyone should.

Over all good but lacking in key aspacts.
Definitely an excellent book but if you're interested in getting into wrestling and it's history I would recommend this as only a starting point as it misses and dosent talk about some figures in wrestling history and breifly goes over major parts of wrestling history aswell. Also this book has become mildly dated and misses peaices of recent wrestling history and news. Again this is a great starting point. Also people who already know the history of wrestling may find this book fun as a read and to look at the art and may even learn about something they didn't know about like I did with the early days of wrestling that are talked about in this book. And for comic fans this book dose have good art and I think it's a decent example of historical comics it is lacking in some aspects in particular the artist clearly reused assets multiple times throughout the book like re using the same picture of a wrestler over and over again. In the end I think that this comic is pretty good for starting out wrestling fans, just good for wrestling fans who are already familiar with the history and for comic fans a fun read but could prove to be irritating or boaring. In total I give it 4 stars

History Lesson
This is a history lesson in Pro Wrestling. It seems fun at first, but quickly becomes very boring. This reminded me of reading a history book back in high school. You get the names of people, their wrestling names, and chronology of events that occurred. I was hoping for something else, so it's my own fault. This is a true history lesson, it is NOT a history of wrestling characters. It is a true history of the people who invented wrestling and how the sport has evolved over time. This is not a comic for casual fans, this is a comic for true wrestling/history buffs.

Now That's Edutainment!
A fun and informative coupling of Education and Entertainment! The creative team on this has really pinned down what everyone should gladly know. It really is a book that should be in libraries; public libraries, school libraries, colleges, wherever! The amount of students citing it as a source should be something instructors come to expect... and respect! Future educators will shine with pride like a well oiled competitor as they witness their student's hungry minds filled with the mental meal of devouring this buttery, flakey, meat filled hand pie, packed full of the nutrients every growing brain needs. I'm talking plenty of Vitamin W here folks! Don't let your brain suffer a moment longer! Tell all your cohorts to read up on the One True Sport!

Awesome artwork
If you love wrestling and want to know a bit about the history in a fun manner, get this book. Only criticism is that it's quite WWE slanted later on.
