The camera works very well. The monitor works, but doesn't have the quality picture of my previous monitor and therefore it only gets a 4 star.I do however really like the direct wiring and believe I will get many years out this product. The previous one I had was wireless and was really inconsistent on working all the time.

The Ideal Replacement System!
I purchased this camera system a few months ago, mid summer of 2013, as a replacement for an original black and white Panasonic system in my 90's model motor home. The camera had finally bit the dust, and I researched several units before deciding on this Rosco Vision system. It took about 3 hours to install it because I had to remove the old camera, modify the mounting system, and install the new camera. Concealing the new wiring took some time as well, and making a new mounting plate for the monitor to fill in some of the hole in the dash (old unit was built in) took some more time. But in the end, I was well pleased with the unit! And there was more than enough wire in the kit. The clarity of the picture was fantastic, and I could see it even with sun shining on the monitor - something I had difficulty with on the old black and white system. The other thing I noticed immediately was how well it worked even in the dark! My only (very slight) disappointment was that I could not see as far back as with the old system, when I had it adjusted to see the trailer hitch at the bottom of the picture. I tow a small station wagon, and this camera gave me a great view of the towed car, but not much beyond it, whereas the old system went out about 50' so I could see traffic behind me. I could have tilted the camera to give a longer view, but I would rather see the hitch and how close I am to obstacles when backing up. The new Rosco system however, has a much wider view which more than compensates for the lack of depth. This is especially important when backing into spaces with trees , posts and other barriers just waiting to get you at the most inopportune time! By the way, I chose to hook it up to stay on all the time When driving! I like to monitor the tow vehicle and know what's going on behind me! I have used it on two trips from Seattle area to the LA and San Diego areas, as well as a few local weekend trips, and could not be more pleased!

I looked at all the low cost camera and monitors and wasn’t happy with what I saw
I wanted a camera on the rear of our travel trailer which would allow me to safely pass other vehicles. I looked at all the low cost camera and monitors and wasn’t happy with what I saw. I emailed the manufacturer of this system and explained why I wanted a camera and monitor. Within a few hours I received a reply that many people use this setup for exactly that purpose. They even recommended 2 cable harness, (33 foot STSH3030 and 16.5 foot STSH304), that would allow me to have a disconnect at the hitch when not towing. The instructions that came with the set were quite clear and easy to understand. Since I would be leaving the camera turned on when towing I did not bother making the connection to the under dash wiring for the backup lights. Besides, I just can’t seem to twist my body into the contortions necessary to do that anymore. The most difficult part to was installing the cable from the camera to the monitor. I did not run the cable inside the trailer. I used 1/2” conduit, available at Lowe’s & Home Depot, on the outside back of the trailer. The cable was then run along the trailer underside to the hitch. We have taken 2 trips since the camera was installed and it worked perfectly. I can now see traffic approaching from the rear. This product may be pricey compared to others but you get what you pay for. It is well worth the cost.

Right out of the box the monitor wouldn't work. Talked to there support who said I have to take the harnesses back out and send them the monitor and harness so they can determine if it is warranty or not. So I buy the unit now have to pay shipping and hope they rule in my favor and then I pay to get it back. Save your money and buy local. I'm sure you will get better service. I give them one star for the pretty packing. Wouldn't recommend to a bad friend.

Rear view package
I was wanting to upgrade my rear view system because the one I have primarily just looked down at my rear bumper and about 15 ft behind, this limited my view of traffic approaching from the rear. So when I saw this camera package and after checking out all the different systems I decided to purchase. Next problem.... installing I normally install this type of product myself, I'm older now and not able to dance on ladders so I called around and got prices from $450 to $700, then I called a place called Car Stuff, here in Louisville and he gave me a price of $250, I jumped for this. After the installation, driving home I noticed the color was off, the grass was a reddish blue, but all other colors seemed to be okay, I called Rosco and talked with support, he said the type of camera I had was a cmos, and that he would replace it with a CCD camera. The monitor in this package did not have a way to change the tint in the menu. Long story short, Rosco Sys. does support you, and I was very pleased with the manner they took with me. The view is perfect now, sometimes its hard to get help after purchases, but these people are great.David P

Just the right camera system
After looking at many, many camera systems (both wired and wireless), I chose the Rosco system to install on my 24ft Class C motorhome. I accessed the rear cap through one of the clearance lights and hard-wired the camera, mounting it on the rear top cap and running the wiring through the cap, down an interior wall, out the floor, then under the chassis to the cab, then back up to the dash and hard mounted the monitor in place of the rear view mirror. As my RV is a rear-bath unit, I had no vision out the back while driving, except by the outside mirrors. I carry a scooter on a hitch rack on the back and was able to position the camera to observe both the top of the scooter and the traffic behind me. This unit does exactly what I bought it for and has worked perfectly since I installed it. All the connectors are very robust and should give good service as long as I need. The monitor is large enough to be helpful and the audio feature works for the times I have a spotter for parking in camping areas. All in all, one of the best upgrades I've made to my RV.
