Great info for. Recovery
Good basic information for recovering precious metals. Requires more study into techniques but a good start.

So far.....SO GOOD!!
Well, at first I was just scanning the pages looking for little hints and tricks and I found them on every page so I started reading the book cover to cover. I'm shocked at how much Mr. Buth knows on the subject and some of his tips on how to recover the gold from certain items came in REALLY handy. He also tells you what you want to have with you in your vehicle at all times just in case you're driving somewhere and find something that you can use to get gold and other metals. This book has already paid for itself and I've had it less than a week. Great job Buth!!

Disappointing...
This book appears to have been written and published on a 1990's era computer. More of a pamphlet than a book, although there were many informative sections.

meh
the English translation is easy enough to get through, but the content is pretty much nothing.good top-level advice on optimizing your time by collecting / sorting / condensing a lot of scrap before trying to move on to the next stage, which he in fact does not recommend. He says the best use of you time would be in would be to collect raw scrap, mechanically condense it (e.g. by cutting the fingers off circuit cards and getting rid of the bulk of the cards) and selling the material to someone further up the food chain. Lists a few good sources of scrap for gold and other recoverable metals, but not much else. Identifies a few chemicals used in processing / refining gold scrap, but does not give even a top level discussion of how they are used.not worth the money

Not for if you Live n a Flat!
It has been a while since I originally purchased and read this book. So a re-read was due. One thing is for sure if this still works you need space!Purchasing when this kind of business was popular I have a feeling - writing now - that a great deal of this may have been stopped by the authorities or superseded. It is an interesting concept, but I feel there is little of value in here for most people today.

5 stars!
Having read some other book titles from this author, I was curious about this new one. Could there be some info I had not read or heard about before? After some pages I knew: There surely was!It turned out to be a helpful guide, even as I consider myself rather experienced. I learned how to make gold from CDs and some other tricks I not heard of before. The many illustrations (b/w) and the simple language makes it easy for anyone to learn about the hidden treasures in our urban enviroment. Wheter it is gold, silver or palladium it all can be found in computers, cars, watches and even - believe it or not - beer mugs. The book is divided into theree sections:After the introduction with some general information on the market and some rather general tips and tricks how to build up a gold scrap business, there is a middle part with roughly a dozen scrapping objects ranging from gold out of computers to silver from x-rays. The third part is a compilation of useful information such as, where to get which chemicals, where to find information on the internet and how to make calculations of gold content, converting different units etc.The author not only describes, where to find which precious metal, but also how to recover and sometimes in detail how to refine it.This all in a short, compact but very understandable way, without tech speak. The writer has a heart for us scrappers and not only discusses the technical aspects but also the financial and social implications. This truly is a useful guide for people who want to get aquainted with scrapping as well as those who are already into the process of collecting valuable information on the field of urban mining.I hope, that the author maintains the high quality of information plus the nice price policy for this kind of books and rate it 5 stars!
