Starring Kevin James, zookeeper is a movie about a zookeeper that decides to quit his job and work for a dealership in order to win back the girl that dumped him because he was a zookeeper. When the animals at the zoo discover his plan, they make their own to ensure he stays at the zoo. In the end he realize he has been chasing the wrong girl, and falls in love with a fellow zookeeper.

This is a family movie and is about a Type-B lovable loser having his dreams come true 10 years after being dumped by the love of his life. I didn’t even know there were talking animals in it, but they begin talking to each other about 20 minutes in. They do have some good lines, but the little monkey has most of the funnier ones.The animals try to give James’s character pointers on how to get his ex-girlfriend to like him, and basically try to teach him to be the pack leader as well. It’s interesting that the male animals are all voiced by macho men themselves, as they give James advice based on their animal instincts.The gorilla has some good parts and, unfortunately, the silliest 10 minutes of the movie concerning the TGIFriday’s joke. That went a little over the top but still gave a few chuckles.Out of nowhere, the characters started using a few foul words, like “what the hell,” and other phrases. Maybe they did this to get a PG rating, but it was unnecessary. Besides this, it’s a clean, sweet, and funny movie that had everyone in my family laughing out loud. There were surprisingly less poop jokes, considering it was animals and an Adam Sandler production.It also teaches kids that they can’t let someone force them to take on a different personality just to find love or have friends. It’s a good reminder for adults, too!

This movie is actually quite hilarious, especially the first time you see it. There are definitely some jokes that make you want to groan, but is an overall funny movie. It has a great message about chasing your dreams, not someone else's. It is rather harmless, in words and deeds. The animal portrayal of behavior sets them apart from humans. Showing that people sometimes make dumb mistakes but can learn from those mistakes and come to understand more about themselves and their relationships with others. Although the zookeeper is an animal advocate, and cares about others beside himself, he realizes he is a human and they are animals after all. It is also typical, I am sorry to say, of the attitudes of some in the world today toward those who are attractive and capable of working hard at what they enjoy. There are also some in this world that are typically wealthy lazy people that glut themselves on the riches and finer things of life, as they believe, not having a clue about how the poor middle class actually have to work for a living. Over all there were some slower parts of the movie and some silliness that many of us can actually relate to. I really thought it was a good clean movie and had a lot of positives come from it. I would not be afraid to take my younger children to see it. However it would not appeal to those below the age of about 9. I think more movies of this type need to be produced. Clean, Family viewing with positive messages, with no cursing, and none of the extreme violence of the movies today. Violence is becoming more and more viewed as the norm and I can see many ramifications that are coming from that in this world today. The violence and adultism is so prevalent today in the movies and that is exactly what we are reaping the benefits of in our court rooms today.

The grand kids and I watched this and thought it was hilarious. So glad I bought it.

This is not his best movie, but I'm still a fan none the less. This movie over all had a great idea, but dragged out way too long. And there were too many adult themes and innuendos, that it really wasn't for kids 12 and under to be watching. Literally PG13 meaning don't waste your little kids life filling their mind with senseless Hollywood filler. The first girlfriend is such a jerk she isn't even believable and it took far too long in the plot to get the right girl. This movie may have needed a better editor to make cuts and tie up the loose ends. They may even had made it into a family film, but for adults it was just okay...

Very funny movie!

The whole family loved this film for exactly what is supposed to be, a laugh out loud family comedy. I hate it when people over analise and criticise the acting or the story line or this or that! Who cares? This film is what it says on the tin! Don't mock it for not being a fillet steak when your ordered a cheese burger! We cannot wait until it is out on Blu ray so we can all laugh together again. I'll make sure we get the seperate DVD for the car and I can guarantee my kids will wear it out just like the original Johnny English DVD and they can't wait for the long overdue Reborn sequel either coming out in October 2011. Shame on you for not giving this film 5 stars!
