ReadiVac 36310 Power Broom 2 in 1 Corded Stick Vacuum, Red

Researched too hard and long for a stick vacuum to replace a 15 yr old Hoover stick for use on hardwood floors. I also wanted a dust buster, so I researched mostly 2-in-1 vacuums. Settled on this for the price. The vacuum is powerful in hand tool mode, but when used with the stick adapter, you really only get a good suction in the middle of the vacuum foot. Not sure if its a channel design issue, but unless you roll it nice and slow, chances are you will miss most of the dust/dirt you roll over. The handle, rollers and swivel head on this work well, seem sturdy. I opted for a corded over cordless because of the power and battery issues with cordless. The motor on this is fine, and has lasted so far, but i'm just not digging the decrease in suction power from handheld to stick. Also, not a fan of the vents on this, as they blow directly to the side, so using it on stairs tends to blow dirt around if you arent careful in angling it. For the money, it works for me as I use it on hardwood and it will pick up cat hair, dirt, crumbs, etc. Am looking forward to a leap in cordless technology.

I bought this Readivac in April 2010. I used in once or twice a week on my hardwood floors, and in late July it broke. The plastic casing that holds the swivel head snapped in two. The product is under a one year warranty, but I will have to pay to ship it to them and also for them to ship a new or repaired one back. I will wait to see how this is handled before I make a final review. I would like to say in defense of the vacuum that it did do a good job and was easy to use.

I received the Readivac, plugged it and turned it on. The vacuum let out such a piercing noise that if I had been a cat, I would have jumped 10 feet in the air and won the year's marathon. Maybe it does a good job with the vacuuming part but I would not know because I unplugged it and put it right back in its box to return it. I read in reviews for other stick vacuum that noise if often a problem, but I can't understand why they should be so much louder than regular ones. In conclusion, test your vacuum in a store before you buy it because you may be in for a shock otherwise.

I received this little vac last week and couldn't be happier. I totally agree with the other reviewers kudos. The suction is great, especially the hand held, and the cord is nice and long, I plug it in at the top of the stairs and have ample cord to go all the way downstairs and into the basement. I'm so done with the cordless, my charge would only last about 1 min, my bathroom is only about 4 ft square and I could barely get done, but NOW.....I have power from start to finish. It's easy to empty, and has a clear cup to alert you when it needs to be emptied. I think the only drawback is that it's a little noisy, but it's not a deterrent to purchase. The swivel head enables you to get around furniture very well. So happy with my purchase, I'm sure you will be too.

The best thing I can say about this vacuum is the pretty color. It is so loud that I can hardly stand it. I tried to vacuum up a small pile of dirt on my wood floor and ended up using just the portable part because when all in one piece it wouldn't pick up the dirt. When I use the portable part it works fairly well if I can stand the sound. I wish I had sent it back.

Pros: Extremely strong power, easy empty canister, does a terific job on bare floors and cleans rugs well too.Cons: very loud, other reviews stating watch out on handle assemby are correct.We started using the vaccuum on bare floors (harwood and laminate) and it really does a great job of picking up justa about everything. We are now using it on carpeted stairways as well. It makes very quick work of that. Wish it was a little quiter though.

At first this was great. However, the only part that remains good is the "dust buster" that is easily removed. The product is flimsy, breaks easily and I would not recommend it. I purchased Dyson's smallest, lightweight vacuum to replace it. It's expensive but if I added up the cost of all these "stick vacuums" I've purchased, and thrown away, I'd have spent less if I bought the Dyson first.

I bought it for quick pickups, but it did not pick up anything! The best though, is the detachable piece. This is excellent to use when vacuuming out the car, stairs, and even around the paper shredding machine.
