What good is taking a test, when you are not allowed to know why your answers are right or wrong. What do you really learn. How do you Improve? This Test is good for one thing. Giving the kids the experience of sitting down, and learning to focus while taking 9 individual test banks with 16 questions each and seeing how they did at the end (if the answer key is even right). If you are looking for this book to explain the answers so you can learn you have come to the wrong place. Simply put there are questions asked that I did not have explanations for, and hence both my kid and I were left wanting, because they said our answers were wrong and theirs was correct with no explanation. How hard is it to add a one sentence explanation next to each answer. There certainly was enough room at the end. Makes me wonder if this was their original material or if they simply copied if from somewhere and resold it. Nonetheless, know why you are getting this book, and if it meets your needs great.. If you are interested in knowing why answers are right or wrong this is the wrong book. Note (This book has not been updated since 2013, and the Authors link does not appear to work, nore does their website. Hint. )

I was looking for some sample tests online to give my daughter an idea of what "tests" are. There are not many such tests available, in that regard I am satisfied with their effort. However, the quality could be made much better. Here are some of the facts that I have noticed -* Some pictures are not clear. They are also in black and white. For a kid in grade level 1, they would have had more fun if the pictures are in colors.* Unnecessarily increased the page numbers. Check the pictures to see how answer keys are laid out taking one whole page.* Number series have two questions missing (15-16) although they have the answers key.

This test is ridiculous, and I'm glad I got this practice test to see just what kinds of questions are in it. It has made me seriously question whether I want my child to take the test at all.For example, one question instructs: Which one of these pictures shows a pair of sandals? The choices are athletic shoes, flip flops, and a strappy sandals like Tevas. Guess which one is the correct answer?

Got this for my first graders cogat test. Helped with familiazing with the test format. Two of the questions had all three of the answer choices wrong. One question’s answer did not make any sense even after looking up the answer in the back.A simple explanation along with the answers would have been helpful.

My daughter enjoyed working through this book. She performed very well on the test and made the gifted program at her school. Was worth the time to practice and get familiar with the types of questions on the test. Graphics in then book could be better.

This was a good book to expose my daughter to the type of problems she would see on the COGAT. I wanted the COGAT test to show her actual ability, so I didn't want to "over prep" her, but just wanted her to be familiar with the format and types of questions she would see.

My daughter appears for HC test for grade 1 and she went through several practice books. She mentioned that this is book was closet to exam and has very similar questions real exam. It really helped her to answer in test with confidence. I will recommend this book as best to prepare. However, nice to have diagrams in color and better explanation of answers.
