Highly recommend if you’re trying to figure out what to do with your life
After having graduated college, I found myself falling deeper and deeper into a dark abyss. I would put out job applications day in and day out and lost myself in that grind. One day feeling super depressed and searching online as to what to do next I came Alex’s youtube channel, Modern Health Monk. I watched a video where Alex discussed having gone through a similar time in his life, and how he got through it: One.positive.habit.at.a.time. It gave me the practical steps and so much hope that things could get better I thought, “if he can do it, I can do it.” So I started putting one foot in front of the other. Meditating daily. Walking outside. Eating well. One easy positive habit after another. Things started to get so much better for me.And as someone in her late twenties still figuring out what she wants to do with her life, when I saw that his new book “Milk the Pigeon: A Field Guide for Anyone Lost in Their 20s” came out, I knew I needed to read it.And seriously, I found myself highlighting page after page. As a personal development junkie, I can attest that this book is filled with inspiration and great advice, all weaved through his personal journey. Alex’s writing makes you feel like you know him, and he has a sense of humor that comes through his writing. I especially love this idea of stacking bricks, following what your interests are, and iterating through that process until you find yourself living and designing exactly the life you dreamed of.Some of the practical steps I have already taken include re-writing my Ultimate story, figuring out my flow and things that truly bring me joy, and becoming more connected with my intuition. This book has given me inspiration and motivation to continue taking action on myself, pursuing my interests, (or stacking bricks as Alex puts it) and to realize there is no set path, except my own truth! It truly is a great field guide for anyone lost in their 20s.

Not all who wander are lost, but if you wonder what to do with your life, read it!
The all too familiar story goes like this: one of many night lost in YT in search of meaning and direction, I came upon a vlog of Alex (can't remember which one) and was instantly intrigued by what he had to say. So, I've watched most of Alex's vlogs and read his other two books, 'Master The Day' and 'What The Heck Should I Eat For Dinner?'; and I wasn't a bit disappointed.I've learned about the blog milkthepigeon.com only after hearing about this upcoming new book, so I've delved into it too - and in the process got some serious insight regarding how to set up a successful blog and turn it into vlog and even books!I've joined the launch team and read the draft of 'Milk the Pigeon' almost in a weekend. By the way, funny fact about the title/phrase 'milk the pigeon'; in greek there is a similar in concept and meaning popular phrase: 'distil the mosquito' (lol). There are a lot, A LOT of books with similar content, but most of them are just a bunch of random and popular catchphrase and... catchphilosophies, total junk, lacking in a well-shaped worldview, vision, and passion. This is not the case with Alex and his work; one can discern a strong drive behind his every word and be greatly benefited by it.So, all in all, this book deserves without a hint of doubt 5 stars and I will definitely gift it to some of my mates.Cheers,.M

A Journey, A Plan, A Purpose
If only. If only there had been such a practical navigation device around when I was in my twenties. Alex has done a great job, once again, bringing insight, common sense and experience to the forefront of his work. The book is a look at the discombobulated and sometimes purposeless journey through the twenties. The world seems filled with possibilities yet in a few years, nothing seems to have taken shape. Alex gives everyone, even in their 30's and 40's, great insights into not only finding purpose but also gives specific suggestions for making and executing a plan. The book is written as from the perspective of one who has gone through the tough struggles of finding direction, of losing it, and of finding it again. The great thing about this whole approach is that it's not about getting the best job, the best car, the best house. It's about learning to find your purpose so that you can be your best self.

Great, fresh, and honest
Absolutely great book! Instead of boring thoughts like 'you have to find your passion bla-bla', author gives fresh, straight, honest answer for one simple question: WHAT I NEED TO DO RIGHT NOW IF I AM STUCK?!This new book is like complete get-unstuck-kit for all twenty-something souls. I'd wish to read this book 10 years ago! What I changed in my life after reading this book:1) Stopped doing sh** I don't love to do2) Realized what I really WANT to do (not have to)3) Got not 'passion' but great confidence about my NEW way of living4) Started eating fresh health meal5) Started absolutely new project that I feel I'll loveDo I recommend this book for you? If you are stuck and trying to figure out what to do with your life right now — absolutely recommended!

This Actually Helped
I've read a million self-help books. Why I never read one directed towards someone in their twenties I don't know why. Perhaps I reached a crossroads that led me to Alexander's book. The most useful belief I learned from this book was to not wait for a mystical certainty of what to do with my life that would never come. Just start doing things, and figuring them out. No amount of figuring it out in your head will ever get you closer to having figured it out. You must begin stacking the bricks to build a meaningful life. The meaningful life is not found. It is builtThanks for writing this book Alexander despite the nay sayers who likely called you a young upstart.Molon Labe

Useful content
Great book and useful content. A lot of repetitive content about his life/journey, but repetition is sometime a good thing so I didn't really mind.I would also suggest "Master the Day" from the same author.

Who is this Alex bloke? And how do you milk a pigeon?
So, I'm not going to say I'm an avid fan of Alex, to be honest I think I've only read one of his blogs before, or is it vlog?.. But anyway I signed up to be part of the launch team because something struck a cord in me, I had a feeling this would be interesting and the timing was definitely right. So I took on the challenge to read the book before launch and give some honest feedback. This book is just stunning.I've already spoken to most of my friends about it, quoted it and even sent a passage to my 50 year old mother (who is interestingly enough still lost and running and charity, you must have met her Alex!) This book isn't preachy, it isn't full of jargon you're never going to get your head around, it makes you laugh while covering some pretty heavy stuff. Instantly I loved it. I'm not going to say it's changed my life and I've quit my job to travel the world and start my own blogging business. But I will say it's given me the tools to actually decide what i want to do. It's given me achievable goals (spoiler alert - an hour a day) to actually give me a fighting chance to create my own life. And not only that you can relate to it. If you're just turning 20, on the way out of the lovely 20's, or nearing 60, this book can genuinely add something your life skillset.Buy this book, buy it for yourself, for your friend who constantly moans about how rubbish everything is, for your older brother who thinks he has to get a proper job and settle down, for your workmate who has always thought about doing something different. This isn't a self-help book or somemushy hippy stuff. This is an achievement tool, a workbook on awesome, a gift. And if your still not convinced - it has some great stories about China and Kung fu, you know just for funsies.
