knightfall is pretty good
as audio's go this one is pretty good, the sounds and the acting are great but here's the bad part with knightfall being so huge and a long story ark you really can not do it justice with a 3 hour renditions of it....what you do get is real good but they had to leave so much on the cutting room floor it hurts... still a good buy if you like a quick to the point story.

Nice and long radio drama
Batman Nightfall, a very well produced and excellent character voiced full radio drama. Batman tales, when properly produced, really hold your attention and I'm glad this one is nice and long. Thank you BBC

As some have said about the Justice League audio CD series -very dramatic in vocalizations and sound effects were pretty good too.I would also reccomend the other BBC Audio series

No where near what I had expected
Unless you are famillar with BBC radio dramas and can follow them, don't bother with this CD set. It is very hard to keep up with when and where things are taking place and the acting is some what 'ok' depending on the actor. Batman sounds like a campy hero and I was waiting for him to say, "don't worry citizen Batman is here to save the day"... The demo i found on another website was carefully editied to make you think this would be epic....which it is far from it. I also thought with the Jim Lee cover this was a recent recording but it was from the early 90's when DC was lax with releasing stuff like this....Not worth the time or money.

Get your Batman vs. Bane fix with this full-cast show
The Dark Knight Rises releases in July 2012. Batman fans wanting their Bane fix can fill the void with this energetic BBC radio performance. For a program recorded nearly two decades ago, the performance holds up well, especially since later Batman films - Batman Begins and The Dark Knight -- and animated releases such as Batman: Under the Red Hood turned up the darkness dial. Dirk Maggs, who adapted, produced and directed the full-cast performance, delivers a Batman story much closer to Christopher Nolan's vision than Joel Schumacher's work.According to its Wikipedia entry, the performance's fast pacing is because this show "...was not commissioned of its own, but rather to be three minute episodes on the Mark Goodier Show. This meant it was written with a sense of immediacy; having to make an instant effect and each three minute segment contains a major plot development or sound effect stunt and end on a cliffhanger."I highly recommend listening to this performance (provided in continuous format only)with earphones instead of a speaker system. I used Logitech's Ultimate Ears 200 Noise-Isolating Earphones . The attached liner notes explain that additional sound effects and a new remaster has improved the show's original sound.Aside from Michael Gough, who starred as Alfred Pennyworth in all four movies of the Burton/Schumacher Batman franchise, the audio cast is unfamiliar to American audiences. Bob Sessions (Batman), Kerry Shale (The Joker) and Lorelei King (Martha Wayne) return from the former recording, Batman: The Lazarus Syndrome: A BBC Full-Cast Radio Drama .Here's the cast list for Batman Knightfall:* Bob Sessions as Batman* Michael Gough as Alfred Pennyworth* Daniel Marinker as Robin* Peter Marinker as Bane, Jack Drake* Kerry Shale as Jean Paul Valley, The Joker, The Cavalier, Thomas Wayne* William Roberts as Commissioner James Gordon, Amygdala, Carlton LeHa, Tough Tony* Lorelei King as Renee Montoya, Leslie Thompkins, Lady Shiva, Young Bruce, Martha Wayne, Sarah Essen* Eric Meyers as Harvey Bullock, Colonel Vega, Batcave Computer, Joe Chill, Bird, Jeremiah Arkham, Firefly, Nomoz* Michael Roberts as The Ventriloquist, Film Freak, Simpson Flanders, Benedict Asp, Hood* Alibe Parsons as Shondra Kinsolving* James Goode as Nightwing, The Scarecrow* Stuart Milligan as Riddler, Maxie Zeus* Chris Emmett as Mad Hatter* Vincent Marzello as Armand Krol, Abattoir, Mr. ZsaszKevin Conroy and Mark Hamill set the standard as Batman and Joker in the Batman: The Animated Series . That said, Bob Sessions (Batman), Peter Marinker (Bane), and Daniel Marinker (Robin) capture their characters' spirit. Kerry Shale deserves special credit for double coverage, providing quality voicework for Jean Paul Valley/Azrael and The Joker. Ron Perlman, Clancy Brown, Michael Dorn and Danny Trejo all have taken a turn at voicing Bane, but Peter Marinker holds his own in this radio adaption. In summary, fans unaccustomed to radio dramas might pass this performance by but that would be a mistake. This show is also a great way to introduce younger Batman fans to this historic storyline as it leaves out vulgarity and graphic violence. For the price, I wish the CD compilation included a mini-comic book, more behind the scenes features and the original, three-minute format. Those are my only complaints.Rating: Four stars.BTW: There are two different listings and multiple sellers for this CD set (new and used). You can buy this one Batman Knightfall or this one Batman Knightfall .

A good adaptation, though a little rushed
While I previously reviewed Batman: The Lazarus Syndrome by the same company and gave it a bad review for its rather boring story, this one is the exact opposite. This was adapted from the Batman: Knightfall, Knightquest, and Knightsend story lines rather than an original made-for-broadcast story like the last one. The thing this time around may be that they chose too much story to adapt rather than too little as before. The entire thing feels breathlessly rushed, with major plot points getting only a brief mention and Jean Paul's descent into madness becoming a lightning-speed rush rather than the gradual change we saw in the comics. The sound effects and voice acting here are superb and it's well-worth listening to multiple times. If you've never read the actual stories this is taken from, however, I'd suggest you do that first. This is like a friend telling you quickly what happened in Lord of the Rings and then you sitting down to watch the movies knowing how it will all end. Not many surprises that way. Definitely better than their last outing, but hopefully next time around they'll take a single six-issue story arch and tackle it instead.

Still the Best after all these Years
So happy that I bought this. The quality of the audio is perfect. Characters are brilliantly portrayed by a talented cast. Here we have a Batman that speaks clearly but still manages to be the caped crusader that we all know and love ( Mr Bale should take some notes here, especially to save his voice- it cant be good to talk like that at all). Listening to it now brings back some happy memories, of me sitting on my bed with an old cassette radio, and me with a pair of really big head phones on ( sonys, cant seem to find them any where these days, shame) the volume turned up far too loud. Wasnt long after that I started to get into Batman and the DC universe of comics. So you could say that Batman: Knightfall got me into comics in a major way. This is a must for all Batman fans, if you liked the films- and i mean the first few, then u will love it.

Brilliant interpretation
I love this audio version of Knightfall almost as much as the original comic book original. A full cast, excellent music and loads of atmosphere. One of the most memorable sound effects is the swirling sound effect of Batman's cape when he is in motion. A classic comic book adventure and Bane doesn't have a muffled voice (sorry Tom Hardy).

Batman:Knightfall CD
I was always the huge Batman fan eversince I was seven years old but, I still love it. I used to have this on tape but, my dog chewed up the first tape with side one and side two on it. So, I ended up with side three and four tape. I was none too pleased. So I choose to buy this on CD because I wanted to have hear the whole story on Knightfull. The charecters who played the voices on the heroes and the villians did a really good job.

Great production, poor CD release
As a child, Batman Knightfall was one of the greatest experiences of my young life: a superb 2-tape set of an amazing production. Sadly, the tape eventually broke but thankfully there was a 3-cd set released in the states. That, however, chose to simply cut out at the end of each CD, rather than choosing a sensible place to stop. Thus CD1 ended with Bane saying "We will let him run a little more of the gauntlet"END OF CD, START CD2 and Bane carries on his sentence! This later UK CD-set mentions on the back some new sound fx and so on, which made me hope some more care had been taken with the release. What the back doesn't mention is that a lot of dialogue has been cut, reshuffled or broken up, which probably won't bother the casual buyer, but to me it is incredibly irritating and phoney sounding.Surely the BBC is not getting infected with George Lucas-itis.
