OK but for one (very minor) irritation
I bought this to attach a blade to my second-hand Stihl FS55 strimmer (the best strimmer by far that I've owned in forty-odd years, incidentally).There are no instructions but there are plenty of videos on YouTube which show you how to do it and in what order to attach the parts. When mounting the blade it is vitally important that it is centred correctly, otherwise the strimmer will vibrate uncontrollably and probably wreck the gearbox. The easiest way to do this is to turn the machine on its back.As some others have noted a small screwdriver is supplied. Prior to getting this kit I used an old drill bit to insert in the strimmer head to lock everything while removing or replacing the spool. This did not work with the blade adaptor kit and I had to use the small screwdriver, which I could jiggle about a bit. I assume there is a slight misalignment between the adaptor as manufactured and the strimmer body. It's not a major problem, just a minor irritation.

Fits my older Craftsman Gas Weed Trimmer
For what its worth, if you have an older gas Craftsman brand weed whacker with a 10 tooth spline shaft, this adapter kit works for converting it into a chainsaw blade style brush cutter. I couldn't find good info on compatibility anywhere so I took the gamble just counting teeth by eye balling the photos. Apparently, Stihl and older Craftsman weed whackers must have the same dimensions so I just happened to get lucky. Hope this helps others trying to convert their Craftsman string trimmer into a chainsaw blade style head unit.

Flush cut this bushes and heavy weeds and grass stay out of the rocks!
At first I didn't think it would fit, and one needs to take it slow on the trigger until you got it figured out but this this adapter and the blade turned my seedeater into a monster wood trimmer. no more bending over1 Flush cuts everything but rocks and steel to the ground, love it
