Delicious ~ Premium ~ Clover Spun Honey
My folks always had "Sioux Bee" / "Sue Bee" spun honey in their cupboard. So I've been enjoying spun honey since I was a child. This is a delicious and nutritious smooth, creamy spread made from pure spun clover honey. It has a mild flavor as opposed to a bit stronger, which is sometimes associated with 'wild honey'.There's not much that's better then a peanut butter and spun honey sandwich.I recently purchased a tub of Sue Bee spun honey and was very disappointed.Instead of smooth, firm spread, the contents were quite runny, about the same as regular honey.I wanted to ph to ask if this is the new 'norm'. No ph# on tub, nor on their web site.Found on Yahoo yellow pages (Sioux Bee Honey Association) ~ no one answered.Further searching I ended up on YouTube where I think I learned whats wrong.Once creamed honey has set up, if it gets in a warm temperature it starts to liquefy. It'll stay in that state and won't go back to creamed honey again with-out going through processing again.Sue Bee says years ago they used to have their product transferred/delivered by refrigerated trucks. But stopped ~ to expensive. So I've learned to squeeze sides of tub (which should be firm) before I purchase. But plastic is thin, if honey isn't firm, plastic may crack.Packed by Sioux Bee Honey Association, Sioux City, Iowa. The honey was called "Sioux Bee" 1921 to 1964 ~ named "Sue Bee" since 1964.P.S. Finally reached the company, and no this runny tub isn't right. They say it's still supposed to be a firmer, light milky spread. Sending a free replacement.Very nice folks, and very helpful. Also shared information ~At Kroger grocery store, the Kroger brand spun honey is Sue bee honey, packaged for Kroger's.Up-date: July 15, 2013. Very helpful and congenial folks. I received 3 replacements tubs of Spun Honey. But even though they assured me their Spun Honey is still as thick and solid a product as it used to be,what I received, though firmer/creamier then the runny product I first had, is not as it used to be.I can only guess that this is the new 'norm'. Sue Bee Spun Honey is now a runnier consistency all the time, softer & slow moving sorta like ketchup, and the 'tell' of squeezing the tub may no longer apply.

Seems a bit pricey to me...We love spun honey and Used to find spun honey at the local grocery, but can't anymore.Direct from SueBee, it's half the price of this

Amazingly good
A friend sent me a tub of Sue Bee Clover Spun Honey. I expected it to be like regular honey, which is good, but it was something much better. Though it shares a similar taste, it is much smoother in flavor and texture. Though the "creaming" process introduces small crystals into the batch the net result is not crunchiness at all, but instead a firmer consistency. Spun honey is much more viscous than regular honey. I highly recommend this product -- you'll absolutely love it.
