Covers Meat, Seafood, Vegetarian, Dessert, Vegetables, Tofu, Cheese and Fish
This book has a great variety of recipes that will please many different kinds of people .As a vegetarian, I enjoyed a lot of the recipes in this book. However, the title is a littlemisleading since many of the recipes were not vegetarian (and the title suggests otherwise). Many of the meat dishes could be easily modified to fit a vegetarians liking, so it was not a problem for me.Tofu, field roast and many other options are out there to work with. Aside from the flavorful recipes, barbecuing/grilling is a healthier alternative to cooking with oil, and helps you lose weight since it's healthier than many other cooking alternatives.Samantha Michaels Barbecue Cookbook contains 8 chapters. Some of these could have been combined together in the similar category, but are separated. The chapters of this book are:1 - Healthy Meat Recipes for the Barbecue2 - Healthy Seafood Recipes for the Barbecue3 - Healthy Vegetarian Recipes for the Barbecue4 - Healthy Dessert Recipes for the Barbecue5 - Vegetable Barbecue Recipes6 - Tofu Barbecue Recipes7 - Cheese Barbecue Recipes8 - Fish Barbecue RecipesThere are so many yummy recipes in here to choose from and play with. It's a good book with a big variety for any family with different eaters. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys grilling, and eating healthy.I was able to receive this book for giving my honest opinion and review.

Cookbook that has some healthy meat recipes, some vegetarian recipes, some not so healthy recipes.
This book is titled 140 of the best ever healthy and VEGETARIAN (in big letters) Barbecue recipes revealed. The first thing I did when I opened the ebook is scan the table of contents. Chapter one is Healthy meat recipes? When I see the title I think this is going to be a vegetarian cookbook based on the prominence of the word vegetarian in the title. What I've come to realize is this is a cookbook that includes both healthy recipes that include meat AND some vegetarian recipes. I don't think the author intended for the title to be misleading, but the way it is written it really is. For a vegetarian this cookbook is going to contain a good portion of recipes they won't even use, so it's not ideal for a completely vegetarian household. If it's a household that has both vegetarians and people who eat meat, then this cookbook is better for them. For me it's great because we're not a vegetarian household but we do enjoy vegetarian meals and try to incorporate them a couple times a week. The main thing is understanding what you're going to get when you pick up this book. With that said, the tl;dr version of what I just said is. This book has both healthy meat AND vegetarian recipes. Be aware this is not a vegetarian only cookbook. The title is accurate, just not written well. The chapters of this book are:1. Healthy Meat Recipes for the Barbecue2. Healthy Seafood Recipes for the Barbecue3. Healthy Vegetarian Recipes for the Barbecue4. Healthy Dessert Recipes for the Barbecue5. Vegetable Barbecue Recipes6. Tofu Barbecue Recipes7. Cheese Barbecue Recipes8. Fish Barbecue RecipesLooking at these chapters I'm confused why Chapters 3, 5 and 6 weren't combined. also why chapters 2 and 8 weren't combined. It appears they are redundant. Please also note the recipes are vegetarian not vegan. Some animal bi products, such as dairy, are used in some of the vegetarian recipes.I think the organization of the recipes could have been better. In the first chapter, which is all about healthy meat recipes, chicken, turkey, pork, lamb and beef are all mixed up. I would have rather had sub categories of chicken with all the chicken recipes grouped together, then the turkey recipes, etc. This same sub category suggestion would apply to all of the chapters. It would make it much easier to locate the recipe I was looking for when searching for a specific main ingredient. While the title just suggests this is a healthy food cookbook, the introduction immediately dives into a conversation of losing weight. I don't know why it is assumed if someone wants to eat healthy foods they are automatically trying to lose weight. I think this pigeon holes the audience to a certain demographic when in actuality so many more people are probably here just because they want to eat healthy foods... for whatever reason, such as because they just want to be healthy, they have a medical condition, or they want to lose weight. I don't think the author really considered her audience when creating this book. It's not really for vegetarians, it doesn't say it's for people who want to lose weight, though that's who she's talking to in the intro. I feel a better focus in the content, title and even intro would be beneficial for this book. For reference purposes, the ingredients are listed in metric measurements rather than imperial. If you use imperial you'll either want to make sure you have a good conversion, a scale, proper measuring tools, or just skip this book completely.Several of the recipes have over 10g of fat though only a few mention a comparison of total fat with how much saturated fat is in a recipe, some recipes even have 20 or more grams of fat. The author doesn't describe what her definition of healthy is, so it's hard to say if she's basing it only on calories and fat content or if there are other nutritional components taken into consideration such as how many vitamins or minerals are in each recipe. For some of the desserts it seems that the only healthy classification for some is that fruit is an ingredient. For example, Red Hot Apples doesn't list the calorie or fat content, has 4 servings which includes (for all 4 servings) 4 medium apples, 4 tsp brown sugar, 60grams of red hots, and vanilla ice cream as an optional ingredient. That sounds like a lot of sugar! I wouldn't call that a healthy recipe at all. The next recipe is for campfire cookies which starts off with already made oatmeal cookies then adds white chocolate, milk chocolate and marshmallows. Again, I fail to see what's healthy about this other than the oatmeal in the cookies.Overall as a cookbook I recommend this book, however pay close attention to what you're buying it for. If you want a vegetarian cookbook only, this is not for you. Not every recipe would be considered healthy by everyone, so you have to be open minded about the definition of healthy because I think the author took some liberty there. There are some great recipes here, some that could use some work. Overall all it's an okay cookbook that could be improved upon.I received a digital copy of this book free in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are 100% my own.

Another excellent BBQ cooking book that includes 55 Veggie Lovers Recipes and 85 Non-Veggie Recipes for everyone at home.
This book is like the top of Samantha Michaels' best BBQ recipes that contains the author’s best 55 recipes for vegetarians but also has included 85 recipes for non-vegetarians, so everyone at home can enjoy a great barbecue/grill meal.It is said to contain healthy recipes on which I have to concourse as you can find, from Chapter 1st to Chapter 4th, several Beef recipes, Chicken Recipes, Pork Recipes, Lamb Recipes, Fish BBQ recipes and BBQ Shellfish Recipes. Also, there are several healthy dessert recipes for the barbecue. From Chapter 5th until Chapter 7th, you can find 55 healthy vegetarian recipes including several vegetables, tofu and other types of cheese. Enough recipes for everyone at home.As in any other cooking book, there will be recipes that you will love to try and repeat, but also you will find recipes that you won’t consider to do. Actually, that is quite normal as a recipe book also deals with every single person and its own unique way to live his/her healthy way of eating. Even though that, you will be delighted with this book as much as we had.

Although I can't personally say the recipes in this cookbook are bad (haven't tried any), but...
With spring around the corner I was looking forward in finding new BBQ recipes. Although I can't personally say the recipes in this cookbook are bad (haven't tried any), the book itself is poorly written. I realized this with a few minutes of browsing through the book. For example all recipes have a combination of normal recipe terms (like tablespoon, teaspoon, and a pinch) with kg, grams, and etc. What is 25grams of an herb? I would have to covert each weighed object to determine how much pounds or ounces I would actually need. In addition some of the instructions are worded in such a fashion that it didn't make sense or the steps were backwards. Like do this but before you do that, do this step.I also understand the importance of reminding people about serving a certain recipe to a guest with food allergies. But if you’re going to do that, be consistent throughout the book. Or why do you have to write in the recipe that I should test this first before serving it to a guest.. Like I said it’s a poorly written cookbook that I probably will never use even though I received this at a discount/free offer.
