This works well for the setup I have, but it did come very wrinkled. The wrinkles are pretty difficult to get out, particularly where it's such a large piece of fabric. I've been working to iron it all. As other people said, it is thinner fabric and I'm sure it would be easy to sew something like this yourself if you wanted to just buy a large piece of fabric and sew the rod pocket. But for the price, it will work well! UPDATE (9/14): The company sent me a complimentary sample of the new product that is replacing this item on Amazon. It's thicker and better quality. The wrinkles release out more easily (also, it helps to shine a lot of light on the backdrop as well). I'll attach a photo of the new version of this product.

I'm kind of surprised at the quality of this. I wish I would have opened it sooner, I made the mistake of putting it in a drawer until I needed it. It's so wrinkly and creased that I'm not sure I can even iron it flat. It has runs and loose strings in it. And it's fairly sheer. I admit I'm at fault for not inspecting it right away. I would return it if it were in the window of time. I might still try. But if you want a quality white backdrop for close up pics, this is not the backdrop for you. There is a reason for the low price.

I think I've given up on trying to purchase a decent backdrop on Amazon. It's not a reflection on Amazon, rather the array of junk, made in China, backdrops that clog up the search results. This is the third attempt to buy a decent quality, reasonably priced, muslin for portrait work. This is the third time I've been disappointed. As usual the reviews are mostly glowing but then one has to wonder how the muslin is being used and the experience level of the user. I've been shooting for years, I've done many portrait sessions, I know how to light a subject and a background. This muslin doesn't get it done and is really just the same as others I've used. It's thin, translucent, wrinkly, and poorly sewn. Good in a pinch, expose it properly and it should deliver ok, but definitely poor quality construction and material. No more discount bin muslins, time to part with some real $$ for a real backdrop.

Decent quality

The backdrop works, but I did not realize how small it is. You won't be able to use this for anything other than head shots. Forget about trying to get a full body shot as it will be very difficult to not go beyond the background in your shot. Update: 07/08/2015 The company I guess saw my review and was nice enough to send out a 10 x 20 version. It worked flawlessly. Kudos to them for following through and turning a negative into positive. Increasing a star for great customer service. My recommendation is to buy the 10 x 20 version of this back drop.

March 12, 2017 - update This company has some of the best customer service I have ever encountered...Ever!! I purchased black and white backdrops and left the review below; a couple years later I got a message from them thanking me for input and to let me know that they took all of the feedback k in to account and used that information to redesign their backdrops!! They sent me a black and white backdrop of the new design. To see what I thought. Upon opening the package, you can tell instantly that it is far better! The material is thicker and softer. It no longer has the crisp feeling it did before. It doesn't wrinkle and it is much thicker. All in all I would say they did a good job revamping their product!! Now I wish they had more color options because I would buy more!!! 2014 review: great price and bag - thinner material than expected really great price and love the bag it comes with which includes a vinyl see through window so you know which color is in which bag. The only thing I would say is that it is much thinner fabric than I thought it would be and is see through. I also bought the black one - so I hang the black first and then the white on top which makes it look slightly grey but also makes it thicker.

It's impossible to get the wrinkles out and they show up in all photos. I've steam ironed several times and simply not happy with product. Regret making purchase Update: The company contacted me after reading my review. They shipped me clamps free. The purpose of the clamps is to hang the backdrop and clamp to the sides of your stand. I was instructed to spritz the background with water and let it set overnight, this will take out the wrinkles. Despite that inconvenience, I did not find the water spritzing to work that great.

I bought the backdrop for my some food photography for my blog and Instagram (www.FollowMyGut.com) and really like it. Yes, it's extremely wrinkled so iron it, steam it, whatever you can to get the majority out. It had a small stain on the bottom, but it's nothing major. The backdrop is really good to use with the photos, especially when editing in photoshop. I like it so much I'm buying it in black. UPDATE AS OF 02/15/16 On my original review, I mentioned that the backdrop had a stain on it. Within a week, the company called me and offered to give me a new stain free backdrop). Not a return, not an exchange; just a free backdrop. They simply let me keep the stained backdrop and gave me another one. I was very pleased with that and thought it was very nice of them to do so and quickly as well. The replacement was free of stains and I had no issue other than the wrinkles, but honestly, it's not that big of a deal. All in all, a good deal for the price and I did buy it in black and love that one as well!
