Appealing LED lights, and great for tricks!
Bought this as a stocking stuffer at Christmas for my girlfriend. We're kids stuck in adult bodies. It's smooth, easy, and fun, for beginners and experienced alike. The two hemispheres come apart for easy access to the string if tangling occurs. An extra battery is provided if the battery to the LED lights should die. The ball bearing axle keeps the yo yo spinning well while in the down position, so tricks like "rock the baby" and "walk the dog" are done with ease. I did both tricks easily without having done them before. My girlfriend is from the Philippines (where the yo yo was invented), and can do more intermediate tricks. She puts heavy use on it and it's holding up fine. We leave it out, and everyone who stops in will pick it up and have a go at it. I love that it lights up. It gives tricks a little extra kick, and makes outdoor use that much more fun (in the evening). There were a couple of downfalls, but nothing serious regarding the yo yo's operation. If I were a 12 year old, instead of an adult, I would be VERY unhappy that it came in a transparent yellow, and not the clear plastic. It still looks cool, so no big deal. But, if I were 12, I would be down right angry about one side of the yo yo not lighting up. I changed the battery, however, it seemed to be a defect in a metal piece that wasn't completing the circuit to the battery. If we held it in place, it worked. The defect is nothing to worry about, Duncan makes good yo yos and I have never bought a defected one in the past. Even now, the defect doesn't affect the performance, and I could of had it replaced if I cared enough to.It gets a lot of use, and praise. We will be buying another when this one puts its best days behind it.

Make sure you buy from Amazon!!!!
I bought this product a few weeks ago and when I bought it I saw that an amazon vendor (not amazon itself) was offering it for a cheaper price than amazon was so I said what the heck it's amazon prime eligible so it HAS to be the same thing right? Man was I wrong. The yo-yo arrived damaged and in horrible condition. The yo-yo wouldn't sleep at all, made a weird rattling noise, and one of the sides barely lit up. After seeing if this was normal I found out it wasn't and that the yo-yo was probably broken/defective so I sent it back for a refund. After I got the refund I bought the yo-yo again but this time from amazon (it cost a little more) and it's worked out perfectly. Works just as good as any other ball bearing yo-yo (if not better) and it gives off an amazing light show. It even came in the color I was hoping for (I think it's random though) which was a very nice bonus.

Fun toy for my grandkids.
This is a fun yo-yo, the first I've used in half a century. Yoyos of olde were wood and never had lights, but the lights are a great addition, as is the ball bearings spinner that keeps it spinning longer than the old ones. For the price, this is a great toy. I look forward to fighting with my grandson over who's going to play with it.As an afterthought, I bought a pack of replacement strings because the string needs to be trimmed shorter for little people (grandpas need longer ones) and because yoyo strings eventually get twisty knots in them and need to be replaced.UPDATE. I gave the yoyo to my grandson at the Thanksgiving 2018 gathering and was bemused to find how much his father, other grandfather, and other adults played with it. You definitely need the extra strings (Duncan-brand come in a pack with multiple colors) but I found you also need a SECOND YOYO so you can play it "with" the child at the same time, that is, so you can demonstrate and do tricks on yours, with your long yoyo string, at the same time the child learns to use it with his shorter one. The lights change colors and are brighter and more impressive when the yoyo spins at higher speeds, and they dim-out at low, whimpy speeds. You need to operate it competently for the lights to dazzle at maximum advantage.I found a number of very good instructional yoyo videos on YouTube that contain useful beginner tips and tricks ("walk the doggie", "rock the baby", etc.) and recommend checking them out yourself before demonstrating the yoyo to a child. It's better for them to be impressed, rather than you be embarrassed. Discard the packaging beforehand. View the videos and practice with it beforehand. Hand it to the child out of your pocket rather than out of the package. Bigger fun that way . . .

best damn yoyo i ever played with
It sleeps for as long as u want. It responds to a good tug. And lights up. It feels strong, and well, built. But I had a problem getting both sides to light. I had to open it and bend afew pins to get them going the way I wanted. But both the batteries inside and the spare batteries came fully charged. I love this yoyo.also this is technicaly a ln unresponsive yoyo. It has a ball bering. And can sleep till death. But it comes, with little grips inside the yoyo that latch the string when u want it

Great intermediate yo-yo for learning tricks and looks amazing
This is the second Duncan Pulse yo-yo that we've bought. It works great and makes tricks really easy to pull off. It's a different design from the first one we got (that one was bought about a year ago). The earlier one had friction stickers near to the bearing to keep the yo-yo responsive but this one has small teeth instead. I think the new design works better although 'spin time' is very slightly reduced. The batteries have also been changed in the new design with smaller batteries. Don't know how well these will last but the batteries in the old design of Duncan yo-yo that we got a year ago are still going strong.I'm very puzzled by the fact that so many people have given this product a poor review based upon the fact that the lights don't work. I really wonder if it's because some people aren't familiar with how to 'throw' a yo-yo of this type (i.e. one designed for tricks). The lights are operated by a simple (but quite elegant) mechanism which involves springs that are surrounded by metal contacts. When the yo-yo spins, the centrifugal force bends the springs so that they touch the contacts, thus completing the lighting circuit. Simply dropping the yo-yo and the bouncing your hand to return it (like you would with a traditional yo-yo) doesn't spin it fast enough to bend the springs - I know because I've tried it. Thus if you try to use it like a traditional yo-yo you'll probably conclude that the lights are broken. To get this to light up you really have to 'throw' it to the floor with your palm up (there are loads of tutorials showing how to do this). It's not difficult to learn.

YoYo tradizionale
Questo è uno YoYo responsive, ma per tutto il resto tradizionale. Il prodotto è come descritto e il suo moto è arricchito dalle luci. Non è uno YoYo professionale, ma permette qualche giochetto.
