Well worth the money.
A great book for a grandmother to teach her cancer my therapist recommended that I get this so that I could connect with my nine-year-old grandchild. She has seen me and my daughter crying and heard words like cancer and chemo and gets upset when my daughter has to see me if there’s times I’m in the hospital. She gets angry with me because she doesn’t understand. This book was wonderful so that she could express her feelings in a way that wasn’t hurtful to me. We actually read the book in her treehouse so it was very fitting. She understands more now and is able to deal with it more effectively. It is a very interactive book because she can write her feelings down and color in areas and just express herself. My grandson is a couple years younger And it does not seem that he is caught up in it yet. If I am lucky enough I will be around to explain it to him maybe next year

Good choice
As a counselor I sought something I could work with the child but not overstep the parents boundaries. I eventually gave it to the parents who appreciated the approach the author used. The child was 7.

Fun book
I like this book because it is an activity book and allows you to work with a child together. I love the fun activities and think it will engage children appropriately

Somewhat Disappointing.
The concept of this book is very good. Children need a workbook to sort through their feelings about their parent having cancer. But this particular workbook is so tied in to the Treehouse program, that parts of it do not make sense to a child that does not have the benefit of attending a Treehouse Workshop. What I would love to see is an alternative book written by the Treehouse professionals that would make sense to a child who is not part of a support program geared to children who have a parent with cancer. Also, I was expecting more for $9.95 than a 24-page coloring book.
