I purchased Moments of Intensity by Thomas Karsten on Amazon Marketplace from Halcyon Books in London. Fantastic service, the book arrived almost a week before the date quoted on Amazon and very well packaged. The book was described as very good condition but it was "as new". I'm very impressed with Halcyon Books and I would certainly buy from them again. The book itself is a superb collection of art nude black and white images, beautifully photographed by a master of his craft. Very happy with this purchase.

All is well

Karsten brings us another beautiful collection of photos. It's all the best that Karsten offers: oversized reproductions of B&W figure studies, beautiful women lovingly portrayed. As the cover shows, beauty doesn't always constrain itself to what's widely popular at the moment, but his vision works for me.Some of the photos do acknowledge the current trends. A few focus on models or pairs with expansive tattoos - interesting, if superfluous to their innate charm, but a minor theme. A few sequences are wildly playful: gleeful goofing for the camera, sometimes with broad loops and lines of body paint. Most often, Karsten is content to let the basics of the female form speak for themselves.This isn't just about a woman's native grace, though. Many entries in this collection touch on her erotic potential as well. Singly or in couples, these pictures elegantly capture some aspect of arousal. The most eloquent among these pictures, for my taste, are brief series of photos showing only a model's face - but what a face, and what an intent sequence of expressions. The book's title promises moments of intensity and delivers, but delivers them without crudity and with fond attention to the woman's unique character.//wiredweird
