Great product for the money
Great unit for the price. Two great options are the back lit display and the ability to turn off the auto off of the display. I run it off of a power supply and the ability to keep the display on for longer than 60 seconds is great. TIP READ the instructions on how to do this by default it is set to turn off after 60 seconds..Removing the display at first is a little tricky but if you firmly pull it upward it slides up and works great for larger pieces. Easy to clean, small foot print, digits are large enough to see from all angles.Cons: The top tray is difficult to take off to clean. To change the unit of measure the selector button is on the right side. Calibration is accomplished by using a 10K weight which is usually more expensive than the scale. I will find something comparable to use to periodically check it.I bought this to use in a kitchen to weight out meat I use a separate gram scale for spices the combination is great setup.I chose the 75lb version as it was only a few dollars more than the 35lb.

All in one scale at a great price
I'd been looking for a while to get a scale that could handle heavier shipping weights, but everything I saw was well over $100 and could only go up to about 20 lbs. But this is a very accurate scale at an amazing price, and even more amazing, it's accurate enough for letters and fractions of ounces. It IS made of plastic, so I wouldn't want to give this a heavy workout on the loading dock every day, but we ship out between 2 and 10 boxes every week, and it's been great for that. The detachable face is key to being able to weigh large boxes -- but because of the relatively small tray, your box may spill over the sides of the scale and wobble a bit, giving you a reading that jumps around. My way around this has been to place a small sheet of 1/4-inch plywood below what I'm weighing to give it a stiff base.

Versatile scale, amazing value
I have a small business that ships everyday and was looking for an electronic scale for postage weights and weights on merchadise, and as usual Amazon had a great choice, a scale that lets you detach the display module to weigh large boxes or luggage yet still read the weight. Has any feature that you would want: tare, calibration and choice of grams or ounces, kilograms or pounds. Runs on AC adaptor (not included) or batteries with an auto shutoff. It's only limitation is that it cannot weigh to the closest gram which would be nice. But it is well built and is as good as scales that cost over a hundred dollars so it's a bargain for anyone needing to weigh things at home or business.

It died in less than 3 months
I bought it on June 8th and died by August 30th.I really wanted this to be the one scale for years. I bought another brand 4 years ago and it's still going. I just needed a bigger one.

Excellent scale for cooking, brewing, or shipping uses.
I originally bought this scale because I started an eBay business back in 2008. Ten years later the scale still works but I'm using it for different things. I have since given up on eBay because Amazon seems to have everything and what I sell is no longer in demand. I brew beer and I make soap now. Occasionally, I use the scale to measure the ingredients I use for cooking. The scale is black and it is sturdy. I was impressed with how I could switch between four separate modes for the units: pounds to decimal places (1.5 lbs), ounces (24 oz.), pounds & ounces (1 lbs. 8 oz.) or grams (680.4 g.) with the press of a button. The screen is also detachable, albeit still attached to the scale by a cord. Like I said, in ten years, I've never had an issue and (if this thing ever breaks--I doubt it) I would purchase this brand again.

Good times, saves me money...
I use this to help me save money shipping on an auction site by using actual weight to determine the cost of my packages. Zeroes fine. I bought the AC Adapter separately. That is perhaps a little disappointing that it doesn't come with it, but it does say so in the description. The detachable feature is handy for larger packages, though it isn't easy to take off in the lurch. You have to pull a tab and then slide it off rails. This is nice in that it doesn't come off randomly, less nice after you already put something on it and realize you need to remove it. Easily done, though. More a lack of sophistication on the user's part than a problem with the machine. Its worked like a champ for the month I've used it. No problems so far. I would recommend it. The extra attachments could be useful, but i don't use them. I generally just send via padded envelope or boxes, so its usually pretty simple.Zeroing, btw, is done each time you turn it on. It counts down for 10 seconds and then its good to go. It also has an auto-shutoff feature if you forget that you left it on.

Nice Scale with a few limitations
I bought this scale because I had a lower capacity scale (10 lb) Pelouze that died. I also needed a larger capacity scale because some of the packages I was shipping were over the 10 lb limit of the old scale.Plus side: The scale works very well and has better resolution (0.1 oz) than the old scale. The construction is rugged and the removable display could be handy in some applications.Minus side: It's heavy. It uses 4 C-cells for power vs. a 9V battery for the old scale. One could get use the AC adapter, but it's not included. Also, the viewing angle of the display is limited. If you set it on a table, you need to bend down a bit to see the display clearly. The display was obviously intended for a wall mounted application where the viewing angle was lower.Overall: It's still a very good scale and the price is quite reasonable. With a few small changes, it could be a great scale.
