This is perfect for anyone who is not a big cable station watcher. The antenna captures ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, their auxiliary channels, many PBS stations, ION, HSN and QVC. Adding the amplifier from the more expensive (disappointing) RCA antenna noticeably stabilized the connection. The USB port on the front of the unit makes using a flash drive or external drive easy to attach in order to record--real-time or timer. (16GB records approx. 3hrs.) Setup was straight forward.Comcast "recalculated" our basic cable channels access and took away everything except what's offered for free without cable. They wanted us to pay $24 per month for "digital converter box fees" since we opted not to pay an additional $48 ($72/month total) to restore the non-premium channels like ESPN, OWN, AMC, etc. we had been receiving.Great for people who primarily watch network TV.

I am most impressed with this product and highly recommend it. I live outside of greater Boston and receive over 33 stations. The quality of the HD stations is superior to that which I viewed through cable before I cut the cord. The menu system does its job well. The features on the remote do as advertized. Everything I expected is in this package and at a great an unbeatable price.

Works great! The antenna that came with it really didn't work all that great. I ended up getting another brand. The actual box works great. I have a digital tv and just ended my service with my satellite provider and really missed my DVR. This isn't a DVR, but it does tape my shows for me. I read that 16GB will let you 3 hours worth of shows. So I'm checking on that. The only bad thing I can say is that the time is in military time.

First the good. The unit was very easy to set-up, had a great picture, and in general was easy to use. I liked the menu settings and ability to navigate throughout the settings. Getting show information was a little mis leading. The manual says 7 days, but I could only ever see the current day worth of programming information.The time shift recording worked great, even using a 2GB flash drive, though you wont get more than about 60 minutes of that amount of storage. Also, programmed recording was simple to set-up, with the ability to enter a programmed recording event straight from the TV listing menu.Now the bad - I am returning the unit because it dies after only 2 hours of operation. It just blanked out and wont turn on any more.What a shame.My advise, stay away from these cheap units. This is the second one I have got that died and wound up having to return.

Install was much easier than I expected. I’m in a distant rural area & didn’t really expect much. But I am pleased with all the channels I picked up & like being able to record shows like I did when paying for expensive satellite!

Great product. I am getting lots of good channels and we live in a valley with lots of tree's. But we are getting all the main channels for our area. And I am so glad to lose the cable bill.

Does work nicely...haven't tried the recording option but will. The antenna isn't any good. Can't connect it to the rf jacks on the converter or the tv. It looks like it is supposed to screw on but it won't go on.

It worked as advertised. I will point out that if your external hard drive supports USB3 you need to only use a standard usb cable so that it will record to the hard drive. If you don't make the adjustment you cannot do scheduled recording.
