Sound Sentry XL Recordable Motion Alarm Bubble Pack

This is a handy little motion-activated, recordable device that has many applications. You can use it to welcome guests to a party ("Come right in--the door's open") or tell salespeople to go away ("Whatever you're selling, I'm not buying") or leave instructions ("If no one answers the bell, leave the package on the porch"). Personally, I use it to scare the deer away from my flower bed by recording the sound of a rattlesnake, a hissing mountain lion, or a growling dog. By changing the sounds, I prevent the deer from getting used to them and figuring out that there's really no threat. It's been working very well. The speaker is small, and there is a click when it turns on, so I don't think it would fool a human burglar, but it might deter them if you combined it with a motion-activated light and recorded someone yelling: "There's someone on the porch!!"

Works well. Tinny, but wasn't exactly expecting Bose quality speakers. Wish there was a setting to make it go off only once every couple of minutes or so instead of the same sound over and over again for eternity, but as long as something is passing in front of the sensor, it will play the same 6 second sound until your ears bleed. Pretty cool though.

Works for what I need it for. Sure, you are not getting high definition sound but how much are you paying? I use it in a plastic butter tub next to the house where it is protected from rain and I recorded my voice yelling at the dang neighbors cats to get off my lawn. They like to come and leave land mines on my grass because the people who don't take care of the needs of their animals think it is ok to let them do their CRA@$ING on other peoples lawns. For me it works in the area I have it focused. No more cat feces to clean up! I am going to get another one and put it in the tree in the front yard to angle down at another area that they do their number. They are also scared of my because I scare them away and act unfriendly to them. Cats have a place in the world, but people should take care of their own. Oh, the batteries last about a year. Sometimes the wind blows the tree limbs and sets it off. Sometimes a car passes by on the street and sets it off too. That is about 45 feet away. I will get another in the next few weeks.

I bought this to record different predator sounds and keep deer out of our garden. It worked fine for about a month and then it stopped working. It just made a static noise over and over again. And yes, I changed the batteries.

Simply put, you get what you pay for. The big problem with this unit is the cheap, soft, tinny sound of the speaker. Otherwise, it works really well. It activates when it is supposed to, has a strikingly short interval between motion activated playback and is pretty darn sensitive to motion within line of sight to the sensor.I bought this in hopes of keeping my dog from snatching things off the counter while we're at work. It's a bad and potentially dangerous habit for him to be in but, he's smart enough to know that if we're not home, he can deal with a butt swat later. So I got this, set it up and put it to the test. I put a stale dinner roll on the counter, opened and closed the garage door so he thought I stepped out, and waited quietly in the dining room. This thing didn't even phase him. He could tell immediately that it wasn't me and did not so much as flinch as he snatched the roll and carried it off to his bed. Whereupon, he immediately received a butt swat and reprimand. Maybe the $60 version I saw will work better but, I don't know if' I'm willing to bet 60 bucks on it.Anyways, if you need this for a creature of lesser intelligence or one with less discerning ears, it might work just fine. Probably works well on wild animals provided the playback is a recording of a natural predator not you telling the creature off in your most disapproving tone. But if you NEED it to work, try the more expensive models. Hopefully I can think of something fun to do with this around the first of April.

This little gadget is a MIRACLE!!!! I have a large dog whose main directive in life is to sleep on my bed (in the process, he knocks all the decorative pillows off -- you can see that it is a MALE dog!!). I have tried everything: static mats, the Tattletale alarm (I have FIVE of them on my bed) -- nothing works. I have a temperpedic mattress and my dog has figured out that if he traverses VERY SLOWLY on the bed, he can wind his way around all the little devices and still make a very comfy nest in the middle of my bed. ALL THAT CHANGED WITH THE SOUND SENTRY. It has a motion detector that activates when Rudy is within three feet of it. It is recorded with my voice that tells him to please get off the bed! It freaks him out to hear my disembodied voice! He got on the bed ONCE . . . that was it . . . he hasn't been on it since. I LOVE THIS PRODUCT BEYOND BELIEF!!!! IT WORKS!!!!

I was a little dissappointed with the product. I know it's a "seen on tv" product, but I was hoping it would be worth at least 20 dollars and not 5. I always had a problem with my dog getting into the trash during the night. The product keeps my dog out of the trash, but it's extremely cheap quality and I don't think it'll work for much longer. The little stand that's attached to the machine, that's supposed to make it stand up on its own, has never worked. When I tried using it the first time, the stand wasn't strong enough to hold it up even once. This resulted in me using strong tape. That tells you how weak the plastic is. I would reccommend this product to others for a purchase price of at most $10. It IS the only voice recording, motion sensor I could find for a cheaper price, so I guess it's not all bad. At least it works for now.

I bought this to set up reminders for my ailing father. It was very easy to set up and record. The product functions ok; at times the sensor could be avoided by moving slowly past it and at times it went off too much repeating after every slight movement. It does have an on/off switch. I would recommend this with the caution that you are not getting a solve all product but it is still useful.
