Worked. I connected this to my hdmi cable than ...
Worked. I connected this to my hdmi cable than the yellow, red, and white output cables to this and into a converter box. You need to have the power plugged in to this( I was able to use the usb cable that was sent and attached it to my Blu Ray player) for this to work. Connected the converter box to my cable box then into my Old Box type TV. Works Any questions ask. I might be able to help.

Performs as advertised
This works well for me; I connected my new Sony smart bluray player to my older TV with no problems. Netflix, DVDs, and Blurays all work fine. And it was much cheaper than a new TV.

An HDMI to RCA Converter that Works!
My family and I are planning a trip and will be in the van for 11 hours. We have 4 kids and keeping them entertained for that long is a challenge. Our van has a built in DVD player but the kids will only be able to watch so many movies until that excitement passes. Our van only has inputs for the DVD player that are RCA, and of course all new devices seem to be HDMI only, so this converter was my solution. Against my better judgment, I had previously bought an HDMI to RCA on in one cable that did not work. With this HDMI to RCA Converter I was able to hook up an Xbox one with this device. I didn't even need to have to use the USB power cable that was included. This will make our trip so much more enjoyable.

nor weather reports or anything like that). Also
You get what you pay for I guess. I can't usually get my laptop to connect through this (it flickers and then turns back to blue, though my laptop still shows it's connected). I'm not using it for google chromecast, which is working fairly well when I'm actually casting something. But when it's just the chromecast, I only see the topleft corner of whatever picture is supposed to be displaying (meaning the guest mode code can't be seen, nor weather reports or anything like that). Also, some things I cast act the same way, like pictures and music (the album art)... I only see the top left corner. Casting videos from youtube (iphone or android), casting my android's screen, and videos from the PBS Kids app all work fine. It's just... not ideal. Might have spent more on a better model if I had known it would be this bad, but it does the basics of what I need it to.

So I'm satisfied.
It has some glitches. But it does what it suppose to do. So I'm satisfied.

Exhausted my disk space with virtual memory and may have accessed my email passwords
I may be able to find a solution for it, but at the moment, when I hook this up to my MacBook and to my old tube TV, the picture is black and white, split in half, and flipping. The sound is crystal clear, though. However, within 2 minutes of it being hooked up to my Mac, I got an alert that my hard drive was full! SystemUIServer was exhausting 52 GB of virtual memory! I assume "UI" means "user interface" and that my Mac was trying in vain to resolve the picture issue, and in doing so used up the rest of my disk space for RAM. I unplugged and rebooted. Disk was back to normal. I checked Console for error messages. What I found was a bit disturbing.Sure, there were bug warnings and statements that certain actions were corrupted or couldn't be completed, but there were also attempts to access my email accounts. The system denied it access, but the fact that something was attempting to access them and the fact that there were outgoing internet access messages, makes me very concerned for my privacy. I'm taking the MacBook to the Genius Bar for a system check up. I've read that others with Mac computers haven't had any issues, but I wonder what OS they're using. The email access requests may have nothing to do with this product, but I've never seen Console messages with so many error reports, especially at the exact same time my disk was being filled by virtual memory.I will update this if and when I receive more information, but I caution MacBook users on Yosemite that the white mini model could be a very, very bad thing for your system. Regardless of whether I can resolve the errors, I'm returning this immediately.

Picture is obviously now HD but great quality to use on earlier HDTV without HDMI input
Used for Apple TV. Plugged it in and worked first try. Picture is obviously not HD but great quality to use on earlier HDTV without HDMI input.
